Finally, THE building and maintenance reference book you have been looking for...... information galore! An amazing new shirt pocket reference designed specifically for handymen, maintenance people, engineers, scientists, industrial workers, contractors, and builders. It contains 768 pages of facts, tables, and vital information AND it fits in your shirt pocket! Review: A Handy Companion for Every DIY Enthusiast - "Handyman In-Your-Pocket" has proven to be an invaluable companion for my various DIY projects. This compact book packs a punch with its wealth of information, making it a great reference tool that I find myself reaching for repeatedly. What I really like is how this book covers a broad range of topics. Whether I'm dealing with electrical work, plumbing, or basic carpentry, the clear and concise instructions are easy to follow. It’s impressive how much useful content is crammed into such a small package, making it easy to carry around and consult as needed. The tips and tricks provided throughout the book have been particularly helpful. They often save me time and prevent potential mistakes, which is crucial when working on DIY projects. The illustrations and diagrams are clear, aiding my understanding of more complex tasks. One minor downside is that the book could benefit from a more detailed index to quickly find specific topics. However, the organized layout helps mitigate this issue, allowing me to navigate through the content without much trouble. In essence, this book is a fantastic resource for anyone tackling home improvement projects. It has become a staple in my toolkit, and I would highly recommend it to fellow DIYers looking for a reliable and portable reference guide. Review: Bought as a pocket supplement - I got this as a travel supplement for my two copies of Machinery's Handbook that I have at my home and business offices respectively. Seems good so far, but I have not used it as in depth as Machinery's. I decided on this edition as the Pocket Ref is more overlapping with my existing texts while this has more code information for homeowners.

Could be better.
I've used a "Pocket Ref" for years as an engineer, and thought I'd get this one for my son, the new homeowner. For the most part, it's a conglomeration of information from several of the other pocket books (including Pocket Ref) put out by Young, Glover, and Sequoia Publishing. This book weighs in at almost 800 pages in a 3-1/8 x 5-1/4 inch format (and 7/8 thick), and includes sections on wall anchors, bolts and screws, wood and joists, electrical and wire info, concrete and cement, nails, general math and science, pipes and fittings, general construction, conversion factors, and other subjects that homeowners and handypersons should have at least some knowledge of in order to avoid stupid mistakes or to at least understand what that new general contractor or craftsperson is talking about. There are a lot of sketches to complement the words on items like bolt and screw head designs and pulleys and belts, and a large index at the end. Only complaint is that some of the info is too thorough for a homeowner or casual handyman, with some of the tables going on for many pages. Overall, a well done little book.

Good little pocket reference!
Remember those geometry formulas from high school? Well this one has them in a small reference. These are especially useful for woodworking and other wood items that are cut. It is chocked full of things that would take many reference books to contain. Overall well worth the money. However, what was not worth the money was the shipping charges since I had purchased several other books in this order. Recommend the book. The store should review their shipping charges.

Handyman In-Your-Pocket
Handyman In-Your-Pocket, is a nice general information reference tool that will be nice to have in my took box. Has toms of mechanical, electrical , plumming, general science, schematic symbols, adhesives, gear / pulley ratios and much more. Be advised the font size is on the small size. Older folks with tired eyes may need to add a 6" pocket magnifier to their kit. Still.... a good addition for my tool box.

Handy indeed.
It's pretty handy, some of the information in it is quite useful, such as abrasives and the sections devoted to each respective area, wood, pipes, tools, etc. It does go into great detail and seems to be done in a comprehensive and organized manner. But aside from the occasional glancing at it to double-check something, or brush up on an idea, I don't think it has much use beyond that.

Bien mais pour anglo-saxons majoritairement
A la lecture du livre, les mesures sont impériales ce qui veut ire que c'est quand même à destination des clients anglo-saxons. Peu ou pas utilisables pour nous autres qui travaillons en métrique...

More information than you ever thought you needed
Book contains a ton of reference charts to give information on topics like insulation, load values, and strength of various bolts, nails, and fasteners. No code information at all, just actual strength tables based on types of construction. Still an amazing resource to have with you while planning a build!

Un must
Prodotto valido e ad un prezzo veramente buono. Unico neo: sarebbe ora che venisse tradotto anche in altre lingue vista la sua diffusione

Not as good a pocket Ref
Geared more for carpentry than for everything, this book is not as much like a hitchhikers guide to the universe as the pocket and Desk references that it was gleaned from.
