Out of the 5, 5 of them worked as advertised, every pins and functions. Good alternative to the more expensive one

I bought this device to produce sound for a modern cuckoo clock. On board amplifier is plenty to drive the speaker, and there is very low distortion at the maximum volume level. Had a basic push button setup to verify the device operation in about 10 minutes; thirty minutes later was driving it using serial interface from a Raspberry Pi using the wiring Pi library. I have not used the DAC and USB interface methods. Overall I am extremely happy with these modules. Recommended. Addendum: After two months of use I have to say this is one of the best documented modules to come out of China. The serial interface is extremely easy to program for a robust and error free library. Very liberal mp3 allowances gives you the freedom to spend time using the module instead of DJ-ing mp3 files to play from it. If you are looking to add sounds to a project or building your own MP3 payer, I highly recommend this product.

Ordered the DF Player mini from this listing "Anmbest 5PCS YX5200 DFPlayer Mini MP3 Player Module MP3 Voice Decode Board Supporting TF Card U-Disk IO/Serial Port/AD for Arduino" I received a mp3-tf-16p module. These are not the same though they do the same thing. I spent time spinning my wheels trying to find out why my code wasn't working, I mean it's not rocket science. I have a DF Player mini and had coded for that and everything worked great. Once I received this module and swapped it out it no longer worked. turns out you need to delay after calling begin on the library and call begin again - probably because of some initialization time on the mp3-tf-16p chip. At any rate, I should have received the advertised product and wouldn't have had to go through all this. If you are the seller and are reading this: if you didn't know that you weren't providing as advertised please update your photos and be clear about what it is you are selling. if you did know this, shame on you

Received the this product and tested using the documentation link the vendor provided above. All five player modules worked perfectly. It is critical that users do not exceed the 5vdc input voltage. Check it before connecting. I used a standard USB power adapter for my tests, but since the voltage was 5.5 volts I put a 1N4007 power diode in series to bring the voltage down to 5.0V. I suspect many of the users who have reported DOA failures did not check their power supply voltage first. Here's a link to diodes, if you need some: https://www.amazon.com/McIgIcM-1N4004-Rectifier-Diode-DO-41/dp/B0719667NK/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=1N4007&qid=1606490563&refinements=p_76%3A1249158011&rnid=1249156011&rps=1&s=industrial&sr=1-3

Slave to a Parallax Propeller microcontroller in a custom-built alarm system to play warning messages. It is a very robust chip and I have one particular chip that has been running for over a year and only once did I need to reset it. The main issue with the chip is documentation. Some of the example code that they give you in the documentation has the wrong checksum and does not work if you try to send that particular code to the chip. Look at the formula for calculating the checksum and always double-check any of their example code to make sure the checksum is correct. That is the only issue that I have running this chip.
