I'm accident prone so this is a Plan B. I gave my friend the second one bc she loves super sharp knives

It’s a great concept, but challenging in practice. It makes one appreciate the incredible dexterity we possess when trying to add a safety tool like this. (I have yet to try it on my opposable thumbs!) It has an adjustable ring on the back to fit whatever finger you’ll wear it on when cutting something. It’s tricky to hold the gadget in place, stabilizing the object to be cut, & hide your finger safely beneath the tool — simultaneously, while holding a sharp knife & cutting with your other hand. At best for me so far is to use it as a knife guide rather than guard. For example, cutting a stalk of celery: I can place the hand wearing the tool quite a distance down the stalk from the hand holding the knife & safely cut. This gives me a good reminder to focus & be slow & methodical when cutting, to protect my precious digits & bloody digits or an ER trip at mealtime. Right now it sits on the counter as a safety charm, as another use comes to mind (bedazzled castanets?), or I have the patience to get skillful with it. Since there are 2 in the package, you can gift one to see if they can put it to good use & show you how! It’s decently made & if you wash it with hot, soapy water after use & drain or hand dry it, you won’t end up with immortalized gunk on your spiffy new gadget!

I'm not a professional chef and my knife skills aren't the greatest. I'm always a bit nervous when slicing. So why haven't I see these before now?! You get several options for one really low price, and some can be adjusted for a perfect fit. They're easy to wash and they come with a storage case. They're a little awkward to use at first. It takes a few tries to get the hang of it, but once you get comfortable using them, all your knife fears disappear. Already I am much more confident in my own skills. I only wish I had known about them sooner.

Do not work very well. After wearing it, the speed of cutting things is greatly reduced. If you don't mind the speed, then you can buy one. It's not afraid of cutting your hand.

It may be big for your finger but you can carefully adjust it.

Not adjustable for fingers too large for small fingers

Seemed like a good idea, but I didn’t find either shape worked for me. Tried on an apple and an onion but they slipped on curved surface of the food. I suppose you could press them in so hard they broke the surface and stayed in place, but it’d take forever to chop half an onion like that. Decently constructed for the price, and at least they aren’t plastic. But they did come in a plastic box for storage
