Subaru PCV Control Valve for Impreza Forester Legacy Outback BRZ - 11810AA131 - Genuine OEM

It's hard to find these in AK without it leaving a huge dent in my wallet. Great price, fits perfect in my 2016 Outback. Check the part number as I believe the description says it doesn't fit but trust me it does. As soon as I changed this PCV Valve my car instantly drove better, quieter and better gas mileage. For such a inexpensive part, I highly suggest changing it. You won't regret it. I've been running this for almost a year now with no issues. I can say great quality.

This is a legitimate OEM Subaru part. Fits perfectly and takes care of the rough idle and oil consumption issues. That is if the PCV was the cause of those on your Subaru. It was on mine but not anymore.

The PCV Valve was easy to install with a little time and just a few hand tools. I’ll return here when it’s time for another replacement.

This is a critical maintenance on Subarus – actually on all cars but the Subarus seem to need more attention in this area. Perhaps the location of the valve has something to do with it. Failure to maintain these PCV valves will result in oil consumption or leakage. This is a direct replacement and takes just a few minutes to install as it is located right on the top of the engine underneath the intake manifold. As you can see in the photos, the hose from the intake manifold goes straight down to the PCV valve. Simply slide the clamp back on the hose (long needle-nosed pliers work well); remove the hose from the valve; replace the valve and then re-install the hose and clamp. Easy as can be. One note – the Amazon “parts fitting confirmation” program listed this as NOT fitting the 2015 Forester so I went directly to Subaru parts web site and checked the number, and Subaru does list this for that vehicle so I went ahead and ordered it. I believe that there was a part number change so that is probably why the Amazon listing was off. As a retired ASE certified mechanic, I can tell you that it (numbers changing) happens all of the time so I always check the vehicle manufacturers’ sites to confirm numbers. You should too!

I ordered this for a 2018 Subaru Forester. The part itself is an OEM part and looked great and rattled like it should when shaken. I changed this PCV valve for the first time at 118,000 miles. (Yeah, I know! Way too many miles!) The reason I'm leaving this review is to advise others that if you are changing this valve, you may want to save yourself a headache and buy a new PCV hose that goes onto this valve at the same time. I went to do this job and no matter how hard I pulled and pried on that hose, it would not come off of the PCV valve. I didn't buy a hose ahead of time, so I had to put the intake system back together to make the car drivable again, order a hose, and wait for the hose to be delivered. Then I used a razor knife to slit the old hose so I could pull it off of the old PCV valve. Then I discovered that the new hose that I received was the wrong hose. Apparently Subaru made some changes in PCV valve and hose configurations around 2108. The hose that Amazon had listed for a 2018 Forester looked nothing at all like the PCV hose on my car, so I did some research on part numbers and ordered the part number that was supposed to fit on my Forester. Well, that hose didn't fit. I ended up making my own PCV valve hose out of a piece of 3/8" fuel line and putting aircraft firesleeve over the hose to protect it since it was not formed the same as the factory hose. I also used spring type hose clamps on both ends of the hose. Long story short, I suggest ordering the hose and the valve at the same time, and make sure the parts are correct before starting the job.

Somewhat different shape than the valve that we removed from my 2015 Subaru cross trek however it was easy enough to remove with a long handled ratchet. In order to install it and not lose it in the engine bay I wrapped a bit of tape around it and put it into the socket a little bit snug so that it would hold its place. I put a little bit of Teflon tape on it as well and tightened it in. After installation the smoking exhaust issue seems to have been fixed which saved me thousands of dollars in dropping the engine. I'm glad it was a simple fix and not something far more involved.

Fit in my 2015 Subaru Outback 2.5l perfectly. Don't forget to replace the vacuum line at the same time.
