Excellent Quality, but calories might be higher than advertised
This is really good quality cat food. It's just chicken meat, soaking in chicken broth & sunflower seed oil. In a pinch you could probably mix in some mayonnaise and make a passable chicken salad sandwich with it. Good to have on hand in a pandemic. It's definitely not grade A chicken meat so it tends to be very stringy, but I view this as a positive b/c it forces my cat to chew it, not just inhale it. It's high protein, low fat, zero carb. It's expensive, but you can mix it with a lower priced pate-type food and bring up the quality of your cat's diet substantially. In fact, you'll probably need to mix it with your cat's existing food initially or they won't eat it b/c it's so different from just about every other cat food out there. My cat was skeptical at first, but not for long. There's one thing to be aware of though: I think the actual calorie count is higher than what's listed on the can. I adopted a very overweight adult cat, and I have been judiciously keeping him to 240 calories/day so he will slowly lose weight, and it was working until I incorporated this food into his diet. His weight loss stopped, then reversed. I did some research and AAFCO rates it as 82 cal/100g, but the can shows it as 79. That's a tiny difference - less than 5% - but it was enough to throw my furball's diet off kilter. I still feed it to him, but I've had to reduce the portion slightly.

My cats LOVE Tiki!
INGREDIENTS LIST. The MOST important information first. I've taken this directly from the Petropics' (the manufacturer) website. Ingredients: Chicken, Chicken Broth, Sunflower Seed Oil, Fish Oil. Vitamins/Minerals: Dicalcium Phosphate, Choline Chloride, Taurine, Vitamin E Supplement, Zinc Sulfate Heptahydrate, Ferrous Sulfate Monohydrate, Thiamine Mononitrate (Vitamin B1), Nicotinic Acid (Vitamin B3), Calcium Pantothenate, Vitamin A Supplement, Potassium Iodide, Manganese Sulfate Monohydrate, Vitamin D3 Supplement, Copper Sulfate Pentahydrate, Riboflavin Supplement (Vitamin B2), Pyridoxine Hydrochloride (Vitamin B6), Folic Acid, Vitamin B12 Supplement. MACROS: 82% Protein, 12% Fat, 0% Carb "Grain free, Gravy free, Omega rich." There are absolutely zero 'filler' ingredients. Looking at the ingredients, you can see that Tiki only uses high quality foods that are actually healthy for felines. The chicken itself is shredded and submerged in a chicken watery broth that my cats love to lap up. It looks a lot more appealing than the brown mush that comprises most other canned cat food. Additionally, the macros for Tiki Succulent Chicken are fantastic -- EXACTLY what a cat's diet should be composed of. I weaned both of my cats off of EVO Chicken Formula dry food onto Tiki. I had previously thought that EVO kibble was a high-quality food, but both of my cats were gaining weight rapidly, even with strict portions. My veternarian said they were extremely overweight, and that I needed to put them on a different diet. After 5 months of Tiki, both are at normal weights, have a TON more energy, and are much better hydrated (less water bowl drinking!). This is the best quality cat food I have ever found, short from making raw food for your own cats which is an intensive process. The price is definitely a factor -- my two cats go through one case of Tiki in about 3-4 days. If you can afford Tiki, buy it over other canned foods.

Best quality, affordable
This is the highest quality food that I can afford for my 1 year old cat. She was just diagnosed with feline asthma. I have been doing my research to try to eliminate all possible causes for her symptoms and found out that fish can be a trigger for some cats. She has eaten mostly fish-based wet foods for her entire life. (This flavor does contain tuna fish oil... How that affects her is TBD.) If you look into the nutrition breakdown of cat foods, many grain-free chicken meals are very high in fat and lower in protein than the seafood based meals. This one is not. It is very high in protein, has a reasonably low amount of fat, and no carbs. That, along with the quality ingredients and cost is why I chose to feed this to my cat. This food is made in Thailand. The can specifically says "pet food only." About the black specks- I bought a few 2.8oz cans locally to try out before I bought this in bulk and they did have the specks. The 6oz cans I received today do not have any specks at all. (See photos.) Not sure if the issue has been resolved or if it only affected the smaller cans. (This might be common sense to many, but not something I thought of at first- when narrowing down food choices by price, keep in mind that the calories in foods per amount vary. I was feeding my cat Sheba Pate (a great widely available option!) However, she needed 3 cans of that per day and only needs one 6oz can of this to meet nutritional needs. In the end, the cost per day difference to feed this instead came down to pennies.)

Superior Cat Food.
I have a Siamese cat with thyroid issues. Despite the medication, her appetite and taste in foods can vary significantly. This can get very frustrating as foods she ate fine a week ago get ignored the following week. Not with the Tiki Cat Succulent Chicken Recipe. This food is a constant and my cat absolutely devours it. I feel bad sometimes for not giving her more variety, but I have reconciled myself to giving her what she wants. I crush her pills and mix it in the food, so it is critical she consumes her food twice a day. I leave dry food out for her as well. It looks and smells like human food chicken and is rated "significantly above average cat food" by the CatFooDB, a very useful resource. I highly recommend that resource for information on cat food. There are some name brand foods that are sold at premium prices that are, quite frankly, not particularly good foods. It is a bit pricey, but well worth it, especially in my situation. The ONLY negative with this food is that she looks forward to it so much, she wakes me up in the morning if she thinks it past her breakfast time.

Appears to be good food, but cats didn't like it.
I have 4 somewhat finicky cats. They really liked a few of the Tiki Cat flavors (Waimea Luau - Tuna on Rice with prawns, Honolulu Luau - Tuna on rice w/ Crab Surimi), but this was not one of them. It kind of surprised me since in other brands of cat food, Chicken is usually one of their favorite flavors. The chicken itself looks like just plain shredded cooked Chicken instead of the nasty loaf stuff that is in most cat foods. I like the fact that this food has no "meat by-products" and the ingredients are simple. However, I was surprised that the food is a product of Thailand - not sure if that is necessarily bad, but just something to be aware of. Their website has more information on the safety precautions they take -> [...]. I also like the fact that they have the IATTC Dolphin Safe Certification. So, if their claims are true, then this should be a pretty safe and high quality food. The trick is to get your cats to eat it. For me, I will not get this particular flavor again, but will probably continue to get some of the others that my cats seemed to like. There is a Tiki Cat sampler pack available on Amazon -> Tiki Cat King Kamehameha Luau Variety Pack Canned Cat Food if you'd like to try out the different flavors to see what your cat likes before buying in bulk. Unfortunately, the sampler pack did not include many of the flavors, so I ordered an 8-pack of the Napili and Puka Puka Luau flavors, which my cats won't seem to eat. I am very curious to try some of the other flavors, but probably won't do so unless they come out with some more sampler packs, as I don't want to buy the food in bulk and then have to give it away when my cats won't eat it....

Big hit with my 16yr old cat.
Simple good food + he likes it. My guy needs to gain weight. Makes me happy to see him ask for more. Many brands give him an upset tummy, this hasn't bothered his sensitive stomach at all. Very pleased with this cat food.

really wanted my cats to like this
I bought the 6 oz pack of 8 cans of chicken flavor. I'm still trying (unsuccessfully, it seems) to find a healthier food than the Fancy Feast pate for my house full of cats ranging in ages from 14 down to 1.5 years old. this looked like it might be the new food to finally lure them away from FF, the "Mcdonalds of cat foods." I liked that the first few ingredients are "real" food, I liked that when I opened the can, the food looked and smelled like human-grade canned chicken, and I liked the larger can size, thinking maybe I can feed all my cats with 1 can, and thereby generate less waste. my cats...? they didn't really likt it at all. even the cat who's OBSESSED with anything chicken turned his nose up at it. I just don't get it. this looked/smelled just like the Purely Fancy Feast I buy sometimes which my cats who love chicken do enjoy. Anyway, a swing and a miss. Only 1 of our 2 feral foster kittens had any interest. I ended up putting most of the cans out for our feral/stray colony, and even the feral cats weren't feeling the love!

Meets her approval.
Our cat is about as "finicky" as they get....she may like something at first because it's different but once her interest wanes, we have to find something that meets "Her Royal Majesty's" approval. When it comes to her food, this cat is a pain where the sun don't shine. Fast forward to Tiki Cat...Good stuff, it looks, smells, (sorry, but I'm not brave enough to taste cat food, ya gotta draw the line somewhere :) but you can see that it really is shredded chicken that LOOKS fit enough for human consumption. She absolutely LOVES this stuff and does not tire of it. We've been feeding her Tiki Cat for at least a year now and it is not wasted. Spendy... (there are times we have bought this product elsewhere when a competetitor sells the item at a discounted price) but I can count on the fact that she will always eat it and it's never wasted.
