Can you use as front camera for sure 100%? I bought a different camera that said to the same cut wires to use as forward camera? Total lie!!!

I have one mounted facing forward. I think you have to cut the wire before powering up the camera, or power cycle the camera after you cut the wire. Otherwise, it stays latched in the mode. Give that a try.

I would think so as long as the the Alpine unit has a front camera input. I have mine connected to the front on my Alpine ilx-w650
