This knife is a steal! Grade A!
I have a soft spot for Old Timer Knives. My first fixed blade knife was purchased in 1975, an Old Timer Sharp Finger. Out of my 350+ knives this Heritage fixed blade and its little brother pocket knife are among my favorites and certainly two of the most beautiful. Fit and finish are impeccable, the materials are top notch. All metals are polished to a mirror finish. The knife was nearly razor sharp right out of the box. It only took a few minutes to make it so. The resin infused wood handle is beautiful with an excellent shape and machined grooves work in harmony with the sharp (thank you!) jimping to provide a safe grip. The blade is an excellent shape for all around performance and made from the familiar D2. D2 is widely used in knife making due to its excellent edge retention and wear resistance. Developed originally for industrial die making in 1947, D2 started showing up in knives in 1965 and has proven itself. During my rather destructive testing, cutting with a purpose built machine on aluminum, copper, and bronze bar stock and stabbing through steel cans, minor edge dulling occurred with no edge rolling or chipping. The tip and finish suffered no damage. Hardness tested at HRC 60. After testing, although D2 can be difficult to sharpen, the dulling I caused during testing was mild enough that it only took a few minutes on the sharpening rig to return to the blade to a razor edge. The included leather sheath was ok but in comparison to the high quality build of the knife it seemed really cheap. I thought this beautiful knife deserved much better so I gave it a much nicer made in USA OEM Cold Steel sheath I found on line. For the list price on the manufacturer's website this knife is a bargain, for Amazon's price it's a steal! Love this knife! Grumpy old guy seal of approval!!

D2, Great for the price
I was looking for an affordable camping knife and was excited to see this one come up in D2, which is one of my favorite steels. The fit and finish are great for the price, the only potential problem is that the tang is slightly proud of the scales, which might cause a bit of pain trying to grip for long periods. I will change my review if the knife doesnโt hold up to abuse testing. Comes very sharp out of the box, not hair whittling but a good functional edge the glides through cardboard. UPDATE: I used some wet/dry automotive sandpaper (2000 & 3000 grit) to round any hard edges on the handle, it did not take very long and I was not aggressive to get it feeling great in the hand. The knife survived some very light batoning with no damage to the edge. Whittles just fine, but it is big enough I don't think it would be my first choice because of the increased risk of having such a long exposed edge. I'm happy to have found a good around the ranch work knife that won't need sharpened very often.

Stout fixed blade knife
Just got the knife, so this is just an unboxing review. No surprises when i received it, it came exactly how it looks in the photos. It seems like a strong stout knife with about 4 mm spine and full tang. Jimping is done nicely and feels fine pushing with thumb. The blade has a very polished mirror finish, and came very sharp. D2 is stamped on the blade and the steel seems to be quite hard. The sheath fits tight and should work fine, although I think black leather would have looked much better than brown. The handle has a larger circumference than other knives of this length/size.

Old Timer 169OT
One of the best Old Timer fixed blades I've owned, D2 steel full tang, good jimping on the spine and on the handles, good grip fits and feels great, good overall size, good finish on the knife overall the leather sheath fits decent could be a little better fitment, and a good value.

Solid quality for the price.
I bought this for a blade that wasn't so expensive I couldn't thrash it working around the farm. Saw some reviews knocking the sheath. Seems pretty solid to me. It's leather and has all the things that go with leather sheaths. It not kydex but, again, for the money it pretty damn good. For the dudes who said the snap loop was too small... stop being a pussy! Gotta stretch it a little. I don't want the thing sloppy and loose. I want it secure and it does that well. Blade is reasonably sharp which is best for a thrashing knife. I don't want a surgical edge because it will dull too easily. Haven't used it enough to attest to it's durability but looking it over and having bought and used a lot of knives over the years I feel confident it will give me my money's worth. This would make a great low budget hunting knife.

Great knife for the price. Poor sheath.
The knife itself is excellent for the price. Itโs a good sized piece of D2 steel. The grind was nice and even. Good edge geometry. Very comfortable handle. Good aesthetics as well. Handles general woodcraft tasks well. Nice and slicey as a general camp knife. Unfortunately, the sheath is of rough quality. Upon arrival it was so tight I had to use two hands to press the blade into it with a lot of force (enough that I took care not to cut myself if it pierced through). I put some mink oil on it, as I always do. The leather is of such low quality that it wonโt readily absorb the oil. I had to heat it with a hairdryer and let it sit several days with the blade in and eventually it loosened up. Knife is 4 stars for the price. Sheath is 2 stars.

Good quality for the money!
Fit this knife in sale for 41 bucks... it is a good looking knife with a nice finish on the blade. The fit from handle to guard is a little clumsy but is functional. This is a chunk of steel also... thick heavy duty blade and looks like it can withstands some use. I'm not expecting the mirror finish on the blade to last forever but it looks nice when new and has a nice wow factor of you are giving it as a gift. I'm satisfied with this purchase.

Excellent quality, great knife
Fit and finish is superb in this price range. I have many knives in the $300-400 range and this one competes with those. Edge is evenly ground, the bevel is faultless and blade is shave sharp out of the box. Handle is beautifully done and fits a large hand comfortably. First use slaughtering pigs and that tough hair and hide didn't dull it at all. I'm very impressed. Eventually perhaps a custom sheath, but even the factory sheath is perfectly serviceable. Well done!
