It would be much better to buy a roll of the aluminum backed automotive sound deadening material that is made for these applications. **Q: Where is this made?** A: All the raw material and manufacturing is done right here in the USA. **Q: Is it safe for this to touch a live wire?** A: It’s a sound and fire rated acoustical putty pads. Tried installing with latex gloves but that was not practical as they putty sticks to the glove and pulls it away from your hands. Bare handed seems to be the best method. These will help with noise as well.
