OneTouch Ultra Mini Blood Glucose Monitoring System 1 Each

I'm recently diagnosed as a diabetic and bought this small monitor (my first) because it's small, easy to use and transport and to be a guideline as I start my "new normal" lifestyle .So far it works well for me. I don't know if others are aware but it DOES NOT come with the test strips and only 10 lancets.The recommended test strips in the additional items is fine to use and I recommended them also. I ordered the additional strips and lancets at the same time. The testing strips came a day before the monitoring kit. However, the recommended lancets came approximately 2 weeks later, are NOT the correct size and they come from Korea. You need 30 GAUGE lancets for this monitor, the lancets in the recommended additional items are too large (box doesn't state size) and non-returnable so please be aware and DO NOT order these additional lancets. I ended up going to 3 stores to find and purchase the correct lancets because I was now out. Just be aware of these 2 critical things when you order this monitoring kit.

This device is of good quality, as are other One Touch meters that I've used. But be aware that this meter is not ready to go "out of the box". There are no test strips, no control solution, and only 10 lancets for the lancing device. This is typical when you buy a meter. But if you're new to glucose testing you might not know that. Also, the included lancet device (what you use to prick your skin for a blood sample) is a new design. For those expecting to use their old-style square shaft lancets, this device will not fit them. I suppose it's meant to be less painful, but it did not produce an adequate amount of blood from my skin. This might be because my fingers are more callused from long time testing, but I tried it on the thinner skin of my palm and my forearm and it didn't make a big enough "hole" to get enough blood for the reading. I'll just continue to use my old-style lancet device.This is a very good meter otherwise. The display is large and it only displays the info you need. The initial time/date settings are simple. And the compact design makes it easy to take along with you. If it had included even 10 test strips I would give it 5 stars. But like my doctor told me, "Meters are a reasonable cost. The testing supplies are where they make their money."

I love that this has a setting for depth so that people with delicate fingers can draw blood with a minimal stick and people like my husband with calloused hands can go a little deeper. It is fast and accurate and Small enough to carry around anywhere. The display is large enough to read across the room. So the small size does not hinder the display size. It also comes in a variety of colors. I highly recommend the OneTouch UltraMini.

I bought this to replace the same unit that I've had for the last 4 years. Ooops, didn't realize it was that long & that glucometers should be replaced yearly, or at least more often than I've had mine.It uses a much smaller drop of blood than the old unit & reads within 10 mg/dl of each other. With an average margin of up to 20% (if memory serves) this is acceptable.

I'm not diabetic but like watching how food affects me. I don't think its very accurate because it jumps all over the place, one morning I'm testing 81 the next 130. So I'm not sure what to make of it. At times the numbers make sense according to what I ate and sometimes no sense at all. I wish there was a way to test the meter for accuracy but this particular model doesn't come with the test liquid that others sometimes have and I haven't found the test solution for this brand and model so I think that it isn't made for this little machine. For the price, maybe this is what you get? I don't know. I took it into my doctors office and her meter and mine where off by 20 points or so.

It's small and fast. The lancet device that comes with it is EXTREMELY comfortable to use. The only drawback is that the strips are a little more expensive than the ones I had before. But the accuracy is spot on! I feel much better about my results being correct, they are much more consistent with two checks in a row.

Meter works well enough and seems to be consistently accurate for me. Can't really complain about the device as it does its job for my random checks. I'm not diabetic but have multiple family members that are. Noticed some times of "just not feeling right" like they recalled in their prediabetic periods...SO figured I'd start spot checking my sugars while looking to improve my diet and exercise.Not pleased that seller page indicated there would be control solution and a clear guard piece to do forearm and palm sticks. Neither of these were actually included. Conveniently, the seller has a small print disclaimer on their page that essentially says they are not responsible if what you receive doesn't match what they are selling. You are to take it up with the manufacturer apparently...classic.!!! Oh...and look very closely at the items they throw together for the "buy these items together" deals. The lancets they paired up with this device looked to be correct at a glance and it's my own dumb fault for not looking much closer before ordering...but...they weren't even close to right for fitting the lancet device with this glucometer.

Excellent, easy to use, accurate, and FAST. Small and portable. Quick start guide is quick to learn. Be sure to purchase the test strips, lancets (which are painless and provide good drop of blood), and control solution. Excellent!!
