Shimano CS-6700 Ultegra Bicycle Cassette (10-Speed)

I picked up the Shimano CS-6700 Ultegra 10-speed cassette to use on my Wahoo KICKR Pro trainer, and it’s been a perfect fit. Installation was simple — it mounted right onto the freehub body with no compatibility issues. The shifting is incredibly smooth and precise, just like you’d expect from Shimano’s Ultegra line. Noise levels are low, even during high-power intervals, and the gear spacing feels natural for indoor training. It’s also held up well through a lot of sweaty sessions — no skipping or uneven wear so far. If you’re running a 10-speed drivetrain and want your indoor setup to feel identical to your outdoor bike, this cassette is an excellent choice. Smooth, durable, and worth the few extra bucks over the lower-tier models.

I was forced to switch to a double front from a triple due to a frame failure on my old bike, and even though the used bike I bought featured a compact crankset I still found it impossible to negotiate my old climbs without risking heart explosions and strokes. I also found that I could never quite find the right gear on the flats or gentle slopes--I was always slightly overtaxed or under-challenged with the 11-25 that came with the bike I bought. Then, I saw this setup on Amazon, and even though it was slightly more than I like to pay for a cassette, it was worth every penny! Not only am I back on the 12% grades, I also find that I have plenty of great gear combinations for all terrains. The big question everyone seems to grapple with on this item is if their rear derailleur can handle the 30 tooth cog. For me it was a simple swap out--no adjustments were necessary on my Shimano Ultegra short cage derailleur at all. I would point out that chain length is critical here. My first stab at it had the chain just slightly too long, and the idler cog did touch the cassette when set to the 30 tooth ring. I watched a couple of youtube videos on proper chain length, followed their suggestions, and everything fell into place perfectly. I couldn't be happier with this purchase.

Cassette was as expected for Ultegra level quality. I was trying to decide between XT 10-32 cassette and this Ultegra 10-30 cassette. I am replacing an older Dura Ace 10-27 cassette. Looking for additional lower gear range. Dura Ace is super light. The XT was the heavier than the Ultegra. Decided to stay with Ultegra since I have Ultegra road group. Did not disappoint. Flawless shifting and smooth transition gear to gear. You will need cassette chain whip and cassette locking tool to remove and install the new cassette. Otherwise is very easy to install.
