Why did I ever hesitate?? AMAZING
I don't usually write reviews but....Amazing product! I used the "no poo" method for a long time, which balanced the PH of my scalp nicely, but unfortunately because my hair is so long (below my hips) the ends were getting too dried out. I really didn't want to go back to regular shampoo and conditioner, as I knew the harsh chemicals would wreak havoc on all the work I'd done to cut them out in the first place. I tried Wen for awhile, and although it had more chemicals than I would have liked, I did enjoy it. However, it was insanely expensive and I couldn't afford to keep it up. I made my own cleansing conditioner using all organic oils and essential oils, with a specially chosen "base" conditioner (btw, if you have the time to do this it is well worth it!) but because of an increasingly hectic schedule I kept running out before I had time to make more. Enter RenPure. I was hesitant to try this, as I'd seen a lot of cleansing conditioners that just weren't effective or had too many fragrances, chemicals, etc. The RenPure product is indeed a bit thinner than Wen as some people have mentioned, but I've found that this only helps it to last longer as a little goes a long way. I was using a whole bottle of Wen every 2 weeks, but I've had this product for almost 2 weeks now and I've barely made a dent. Don't forget - I have extremely long, thick hair that is very fine. This product cleanses well and leaves a beautiful shine, but does not leave a greasy residue or weigh my hair down. I was at my wits end, because my hair had started to be unruly, frizzy, and weird, which it never had been in the past....but after only a few uses of this product, my hair is back to being luxurious, soft, and smooth. It is not weighed down so the natural slight wave is back, but it is no longer frizzy which is what some of the other cleansing conditioners left me with. The scent is also pleasant! I love essential oils, and rosemary/mint was a combination I used when I was making my own cc. I also have the coconut co-wash and I love that as well!

Method and madness
Before I begin, I would like to submit a list of factors that I find relevant to a review of a product like this; we have well water (hard water), not fluoridated, chlorinated city water; I have long, wavy to curly hair that is of medium coarseness; I am white. Now, using this product isn't as difficult as it seems from other reviews, but it is very specific. My method is as follows: wet hair thoroughly - 2 minutes start with a few pumps of product at a time, working from scalp to ends, and front to back (up to 15 pumps) - 3 minutes scrub scalp with fingertips / nails as if I were a mother treating a lice infestation patient - up to 5 minutes do all other shower stuff - ??? rinse well, shaking and scrubbing as needed - 2 minutes soap down the backside (slick, sticky back does not equal clean feeling) roughly towel dry, then wrap to absorb excess moisture, braid, get in bed This method leaves my hair clean, soft, and feeling healthy. I am a fan of the No-Poo system in its various forms, but this works well, without stripping my hair. Also, my husband doesn't complain about my hair reeking of vinegar! Speaking of smells, I was skeptical at first about the scent for this Ren Pure conditioner - I had previously tried the sweet pomegranate. When it comes out of the bottle the mint is very potent, but as you work it into your hair the rosemary starts to shine through for a most pleasant combination, particularly if one uses a bit of it as a leave-in. (which I only do on the rare occasion that I blow-dry my hair - a singularly disturbing experience) Overall, the performance, scent, pricing, and form of this hair cleanser are all magnificent assets, with which I wholeheartedly recommend it to everyone who bothers to ask my opinion on such things.

Haven't used shampoo in months!
I stopped using shampoo about 4 months ago. Initially, I would just rinse my hair, but I found it difficult to detangle my hair after rinsing it. I have hip-length hair that is very fine and I usually have to use a lot of conditioner (an entire handful) just to make my hair manageable enough to brush. I came across Renpure at a local drugstore (where it costs 11 dollars) and tried it out. It has a very thin texture and does not lather. The scent is pleasant. The bottle says to use 10+ pumps, but I find that I have to use 20 pumps or more because of how long my hair is. I put most of it onto my scalp and I massage it in. I add a splash of water and work it down to the ends of my hair. After I'm done with the rest of my shower, I rinse out the Renpure. Within a week of using Renpure, I noticed is that my hair seemed to be falling out more than usual. First, I thought it was postpartum hair loss. Then, after I did some research, I learned that many regular shampoos and conditioners contain binding agents that prevent detached hair strands from falling out, giving the illusion of more volume. In other words, even though most people lose about 100 strands of hair per day, many of those strands stay on your head attached to other strands of hair if you use volumizing products. Many people who stop using shampoo experience increased shedding because these 100 strands actually fall out instead of falling out and getting stuck to other strands. Several months in, I notice that I lose about 10-15 strands of hair each time I use Renpure, which still alarms me, but I suppose it's normal after all. My hair is softer and in better condition than ever before. It is so much easier to detangle, and I can go much longer in between "washes". One last note: I have gone through about 8 or 9 bottles of Renpure, and 3 of them have had defective pumps. I was unable to get the pump to work. Not the end of the world, but it's an annoying manufacturing defect.

Miracle? Almost!
Wow, this is better than I hoped! I was looking at Wen products but they are very expensive and I saw all these people reporting that it made their hair fall out. As much as I want low maintenance, awesome looking hair I am not willing to take that risk. So I found this with pretty great reviews and for the price decided it was worth it. I have very long (to the middle of my back) fine hair and I have a lot of it. Until my mid-20s I could let my hair air dry and it was straight and frizz free. I am a low maintenance person and wanted that back but nothing I tried worked. I never felt like the sulfate free shampoos got my hair totally clean and they didn't get close to the results I wanted anyway. I have damaged my hair for years. Dyeing and leaving it in a tangled bun too often causing a lot of breakage and frizz. The first couple times I used this I let my hair dry and it was less frizzy and straighter but not like the old days. Still an improvement. The magic happened when I blew dry my hair. Just a blow dry pointing the dryer down, no product, no roller brush, returned incredible results. My hair is straight and barely any frizz! Tips: *DO follow the directions (for the most part) *Massage in for 2-3 minutes. Don't rough up your hair like shampoo, just kind of massage your scalp and lightly rub into the length. I usually finish up with a wide tooth comb. *Let sit for 3-5 minutes. I use a clip to hold it up and go about washing normally without getting my long hair in the way. *It says 10-12 pumps. Even with my long hair I haven't found I needed that much unless my hair was really dirty/oily. The sweet spot for me seems to be about 8 pumps. *Make sure it gets down to your scalp to fully clean down to the roots. With regular shampoo suds it's easier. I actually separate my hair in a few places to make sure it is thoroughly in. *Rinse, rinse and rinse some more. I again separate my hair in a few places to make sure it is all out. If I don't it leaves kind of a sticky residue. *With my hair I gently dry it with a cotton t-shirt to limit the frizz and breakage. *If you use it for a leave in condition use a very small amount on towel dried hair. It works very well but I use only a pea size amount even with as much hair as I have otherwise again I get some stickiness. And then I let it sit a minute and wipe off any excess with a little more t-shirt drying. My hair comes out wonderfully soft and shiny. Someone asked if I had dyed my hair because without the residue from shampoo and with the shine it made my medium-blonde hair looked lighter! It's just as straight as if I use a flat iron but has more volume, and of course less damage and breakage. Immediately after blow drying it does have a bit of frizz but if I just leave it be it calms down very shortly. Is it the total miracle like you see in Wen commercials? No, but I don't expect Wen would be either (I'm sure they do some styling after using it). For a low maintenance girl like me it is pretty darn impressive. I don't get frustrated with my hair and resort to another damaging pony tail, and the price is incredibly reasonable. One note: I found this in my local store for about the same price and on sale for a few dollars less. The convenience of it coming to my house is great, but check your local store to compare.

Better than Wen!
Let me start by saying that I have purple hair, so it needs moisture. I also have oily skin and scalp. So shampoo use has only worsened those issues by creating a need for daily washing to keep my scalp clean (there's only so much dry shampoo can do) all while drying out my ends further. Years ago, when I had white hair, I did use the baking soda and apple cider vinegar thing, but I simply wasn't sure what to expect with purple color and also really hate the transition period of two months of greasy hair. And then, I found Renpure cleansing conditioner. Sure, it's not as natural as baking soda and apple cider vinegar, and sure, it costs a lot more. But I think it's a good middle ground for those of us who want to get away from stripping our scalps but who still want smooth, soft, great smelling hair. The lavender one smells great too but the rosemary mint is literal perfection. I use about 4 pumps and really work it into my scalp at the beginning of my shower, and rinse it out last. My hair is starting to require less leave in product to feel soft and manageable. It doesn't get greasy overnight. It's shiny. And now, I don't have the obnoxious issue of running out of conditioner before shampoo, now when I get low, I buy one more bottle. I also add some of my color to it about once or twice a week to help keep it vibrant, it mixes in easily. I liked this so much, I bought it for my mom, who has issues with static. She hasn't been using it so far but she is addicted to shampoo and having squeaky clean hair at all times, and she reports that she loves this stuff!

Excellent product
I have been using this for a few years and I absolutely love it. The scent is ok on some of them but not something you would like to hold to your nose all day long. That being said, the product itself more than makes up for the lack of pleasant smell. I have thin hair but alot of it and my hair tends to hold build-up from regular products very quickly. I transitioned to this product on the recommendation of someone who had a ton of curly hair. This will not only remove the build-up but it will leave your hair soft and manageable without leaving it looking like you never washed it in the first place. I still use regular products once a week to give my hair a good cleaning and conditioning but use this during the week. I have also tried similar products and have actually returned to this as it is the best cleansing conditioner that is affordable. I actually threw away a high end similar product which I bought based on the brand name itself. Never again will I stray from this product.

I have pretty thick and textured hair
This review really is for the 4 different Renpure scents i've tried so far: Pomegranate, Coconut cleansing pudding, Rosemary mint and Lavender. The pomegranate and the coconut both performed well for me. I have pretty thick and textured hair. These both left my hair softened, they left it clean and had no buildup. I have to use quite a bit, maybe 30 pumps or so to get through all of my hair and really work it in, but for the price that really isn't a downside for me. The con of these two is the scent. The pomegranate one is super sweet. When I first smelled it, it kind of put me off. If you like really sweet scents, this might not bother you. To me though, it doesn't smell like pomegranate at all. The coconut cleansing pudding smelled like straight up Play-doh. I bought two bottles at the same time at TJ Maxx. If I hadn't, it definitely wouldn't have been a re-purchase for me after getting through the first bottle. If you can go locally to smell these for yourself first, I would really suggest that. And then come back to Amazon to order, I can get them for an average of $6.99 a bottle and its about $4 higher in the very few places that actually carry these products. Now for the other two, the Rosemary mint and the Lavender. I like the scent of both of these. The rosemary mint is just that and its super minty. So if a strong mint scent is your thing, you will probably like it. The Lavender is not a sweet lavender that you would find in a body spray, bubble bath etc... but its a medicinal, natural lavender. Like if you opened a bottle of essential lavender oil, this is what it smells like. Again, a good thing in my book. The negative though is that both for some reason left my hair kind of rough and prone to tangling. I've tried each multiple times and due to that and the burning issue, which I will address next, I may just throw the rest out which is rare for me to not use a product up. These both irritate my scalp quite a bit. I normally work it into my hair first, then wash face and body and rinse it out at the end of the shower. With these two, I start to get a pretty strong burning sensation on my scalp about halfway through the shower. Its not like a refreshing minty tingle either, more of an alarming burn. It does fade of course after some time but its strong enough that I don't want to use the bottles up. So after using these 4 different scents, I really don't think I will buy any more Renpure products unless I find the coconut one at a super good price. That one performed well enough for me to ignore the funky smell. But the others just have too many negatives to re-buy. One cleansing conditioner that I have purchased multiple times and will continue to re-purchase is the As I Am coconut. It smells good and works great for me.

Long-term solution for oily hair
I have naturally very oily hair. For most of my life, I washed it every day, and if I missed a day it was truly terrible—uncomfortable, itchy, and it just made me feel dirty all day. I wanted to address this issue, so over a period of 8 years I tried different things to wean my hair/scalp off of daily shampoo. The main thing was that I would wash every other day (with a sulfate-free shampoo) and use dry shampoo on the off days. Off days were bad hair days but I didn’t feel dirty and the hope was a long-term improvement in my hair. That long-term improvement never happened. Enter this product. When I first started using it, I would wash with it every day for six days and then shampoo (still sulfate free) on the last day of the week. (If I tried to use Renpure any longer than that at first, my hair was truly awful). This set up gave me better short term results than the dry shampoo route (fewer bad hair days). More importantly, my hair was gradually getting less oily. I started being able to push the number of data before I needed to shampoo. Then, I found that the day after a shampoo I could actually do nothing and have good hair. This felt amazing, since I could not remember a time a time in my life when I could do that. I think it it took a little over a year to get to that point. 3.5 years having stretched things in various ways more and more, I decided to stop using this product all together. I now use shampoo once every 5 days, and usually do dry shampoo on day 3. I’m pretty happy with my hair on most of these days. If it ever starts getting more oily again or if I feel like I need to stretch my time between shampoos, I will go back to Rempure. So, so satisfied with where this product took me.
