Impressive bit of kit
Like many of us in the UK, I'm now mostly working from home. So deliveries and visitors can be awkward especially when I'm in a meeting, but I don't want to get a "sorry we missed you" card and have to wait for re delivery. So I thought the answer might be a smart doorbell. I looked at the market leading brand, but just couldn't bring myself to pay that sort of cash. Then this one popped up on the end of summer sale and I thought that I would take a chance on it. This is the first smart doorbell I've owned, so I've not got anything to compare it to directly, however I have to say that I'm thoroughly impressed. It was really simple to setup. I just loaded the Awit app on my phone, pointed the bell at the QR code on my screen (generated by the app) and it was done. I charged it up (make sure you take out the clear plastic tab in the battery tray- i missed it and then raised a customer services ticket, making me look like an idiot). It took about 2 hours to fully charge. I then screwed it to my door frame, using the 2 screws provided, and hey presto- job done. I tweaked the settings a little on mine, as it was set to high sensitivity for the motion sensor and the cat was setting it off each time it passed the door. Changing it medium fixed the issue. It's been up now for 4 days and the battery is presently at 93%. This includes all the 'new toy' silliness of me going outside to ring the bell and then having a conversation with the wife, despite her only being 5 foot away in the hall. The actual bell ringer part is pretty small, but it's loud enough to hear around the house. To be honest though, the mobile phone notifications are so quick and go to all the mobiles in the house, that its really redundant. Its pretty easy to load onto other mobiles. I just opened the 'share' function on my mobile, loaded the app onto my wife and sons mobiles and then just pointed their phone camera at the QR code on my phone. Job done. The video quality and sound quality is also good. When someone presses the bell pushbutton bit, it also rings, to let them know it worked. This is captured on the video and can be pretty loud, but it's only short and really isn't that much of an issue. If I had to say something negative, the only thing that I think could be improved is the push button on the bell. There's nothing to highlight it and at night it's more tempting to push the camera, as it stands out more. A simple led in the button would have made it much easier to see. Small gripe I know, but nonetheless it's worth mentioning. Seriously, other than that, it's great. I love it and have had hours of fun watching the video capture of family members entering and leaving the house. It's better than YouTube....

Working well, but difficult to adjust camera angle
Basic installation was simple. A few minor connection issues, but this was due to WiFi issues. Repositioning the network extender nearer to the bell improved the connection. The motion detection, by default, is set to high. This was causing many false alarms. Medium is little better in our case, although low appears to be working well. It would be better, IMHO, to have a smaller granularity of adjustment. The bell fixing is designed to be flush with the house wall. In our case, we have grass immediately in front of the house, with a driveway to the right. Without adjustment, it is not possible to view the full driveway (see picture 2). I have now mounted the doorbell over a wedge (picture 3), which allows me to see the driveway (picture 1). It would be ideal if there was a way to angle the bell provided. The doorbell comes with two rechargeable batteries - and these are charged by a USB connection on the back of the bell - this works... but it is necessary to remove the bell from the holder [ie take it out of service] whilst it is charged. As the batteries are not standard AA/AAA size... it is not possible to charge them elsewhere (except if you buy a second doorbell!) However, once adjusted, the camera is good and the two-way microphone allows you to talk to a visitor. We haven't actually had someone ring the bell since installation.... so I can't comment on how that works at present... Will update this review when that happens... Update: a few months later and you have to pay to view videos.... As well as the app updates making it very easy to click on adverts and not the required function. Not using this anymore... Think twice..

Good value
I wanted a door bell and camera as a bit of security, as I've had my cars tyres slashed recently. The door bell side is good, the app is okay once you discover how to navigate it. The video sound is great, thd picture quality is great. However on Amazon it claims to have 166 degree vision, that may be the the detection range but the camera I would say has 90 or 100 degree width at the most. Which for me doesn't cover my car. It was easy to fit and connect to my phone. It seems to be good quality so far and at the cheaper end of the market, so generally I am pleased with it.

Works well good quality
Easy to set up ,you ideally need your Wi-Fi router to be not to far away you have to download the app in store I have I phone works ok on app, took about 10 mins to set up .batteries last about a week to 10 days before recharge ,they come with large size torpedo type batteries NOT AA the type you get in laser pens but they are rechargeable x 2 ,with usb cable included ,you get free storage up to 20 secs per clip and you can store them to your phone take pic shots or delete them if you like, if you want more storage you need to pay ,but I found itโs more than enough.sensitivity is good and you can communicate both ways when someone is at the door.,comes with plug in door chime 3 pin if you want to use but you donโt have to as it rings your phone as well .overhaul good value for money .Installing motion detector was straight forward and anyone with basic diy skills can do this .Instructions could do with been a bit larger print

Could've been so good.
Out the box this seemed great. Was so easy to set up and install. Picture was great, audio was good on both ends, motion detection worked well. My only fault, which is sadly a big one, I would get an alert instantly but the. It would take, sometimes 3-4minutes to connect to the camera. By this time whoever was at the door had gone. I'm using an up to date phone and my Internet connection is 70mbs. So can't understand why. Because of this it made it useless so had to return.
