The Byrna SD is a well-built, thoughtfully designed non-lethal self-defense option. The build quality feels solid in hand, the ergonomics are good, and everything arrived well packaged and ready to go. For what it’s designed to be, it inspires confidence and feels like a serious product—not a gimmick. Performance-wise, it does exactly what it’s supposed to do, and the overall system is easy to understand and maintain. It’s a good alternative for people who want a defensive option without stepping into traditional firearm territory. The only minor downside I’ve noticed is with the ammo storage when it’s not seated in the launcher. The rounds don’t always stay put in the magazine on their own and can pop out unexpectedly, which can be a bit annoying when handling or storing them separately. It’s not a dealbreaker, just something to be aware of. Overall, still a strong 5-star product. Reliable, well made, and effective for its intended purpose—with just a small quirk that doesn’t outweigh the positives.

This Byrna launcher SD exceeded expectations as far as quality. So much so I am debating on getting a 2nd one to leave in the bed room for the Mrs. While I’m at work for my 2 week hitch. I like the fact that you can replace the upper slide with one that has fiber optic sights. It was packaged very well. And I received what I expected to. If you are looking for a less leather option to carry this IS the one! The CO2 cartridge is punctured on the first trigger pull. My wife bought a different brand and you have to puncher the cartridge manually before you shoot. Time is precious in those moments. And if you puncture the CO2 before hand, what happens if it loses all or some of the pressure when you really need it no good! I sound like a sales person for this company I know, but I swear I’m not I work in oil and gas so it’s important to me that my wife has something to protect herself with while I’m gone for two weeks. They are a little bit pricier than some of the competitors but once you hold it, you’ll know why you cannot go wrong.

This bundle is a great value for the money. I feel much safer having it and easy to use. Very powerful and leak proof.

I bought it for a friend who absolutely loves it. And I feel better knowing she has it.

Never even heard of this until recently. Now there are BB guns that are much much stronger but being hit by this bigger projectile will certainly bring you down non lethally. I’m very confident in that part. The case it comes in could be better the clips jam. The grip is solid and the clips for whatever reason seem as tho they are not in all the way and slightly wiggle. Definitely test it out so you have an idea of the range and sway of the round BUT understand that the round being fired is plastic and will undoubtedly come back flying at you if your not careful. Overall the price sucks but it’s decent quality

Very happy, worked perfectly right out the box. The family took it out to practice and found it to be very accurate, my 10 year old son was able to hit an 8 in gong at about 40 yards, as did my wife and myself. Watch out for bounce back as I shot it at a cinder block and the round bounced back almost hitting me and smacked our house hard haha

90% of it is bad. So, I'll start with the ad. The ad says free returns, however I didn't know until I tried to return it, you can only return it if it arrives in a unworking condition/broken. So make sure that you definitely want the over sized, overweight & overpriced Byrna. The price: At $429.99 for all that we are about to mention is WAY overpriced in comparison to other brands and quality. I realize that it it my fault for not doing more research, but this is a learning curve for me. After testing this model out and being almost completely dissatisfied, I purchased the Umarex T4E Walther PPQ .43 caliber and WOW WHAT A DIFFERENCE! The PPQ is smaller (more compact) quieter, ALOT LIGHTER, ALOT CHEAPER ($188.97) better quality, better looking (identical to the real deal) and you don't need to special order a holster for it because it's the exact specs of the real deal. After unsuccessfully attempting to buy a holster for the Byrna at a Academy & a gun shop, I realized that I would have to special order a holster from Byrna. Like I said, way too bulky. I contacted Byrna and asked them if they manufactured a smaller/compact model, and they told me "unfortunately no." So I asked if I could return it and was denied. I was finally able to sell it for HALF of what I paid. The Walther PPQ is half of the weight of the Byrna, which is a huge deal if you plan on carrying it, which why wouldn't you? DO YOUR RESEARCH! CHECK OUT THE UMAREX T4E WALTHER PPQ BEFORE YOU BUY THIS MODEL. Remember, no returns on this one, good luck!
