Quite please with this cane; I had ordered the first one there were some problems, however, with the help of Amazon & Brazos it was taken care of immediately. American made as; You can't beat that with a stick Regards, Richard

The cane arrived here in Colombia after my fractured ankle healed, but I’m sure my horse will throw me off again in the future, so I know it’s here waiting to be used. And for sheer fun I go out with it sometimes. It is of stunning quality, beautiful to look at, to feel, and strong, durable, in short, my best internet buy ever. Handcrafted by a Daniel Auz, well sir, you made me happy! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

When I use this cane, I feel stylish and youthful. People give me compliments. It moves with me and feels agile and natural because of the wood and comforting grip. It is an extension of me. The color is red with autumn vibes. The wood pattern is gorgeous with a liquid movement appearance that inspires as much as the twist of the wood by design. The cane makes me feel young, with many adventures ahead of me. It makes me feel like traveling and enjoying life. Some products feel too medical and more like a crutch. This product feels like life and draws attention to who I am, and not my pain or need of it. If you like hiking sticks and being an adventurous soul, this is the right one for you. The price is up there for the wood type, but each one is magical and destined to live with you on your journey. I would highly recommend. This cane is for living and the dreams ahead.

It's nice to have something one can call unique, the oak is a unique piece of wood as are the handcrafting and finishing of this walking cane, even though it may be one of a large production run it is an individual and distinct in subtle ways from all the others. Looking at it the design the twisted pattern is pleasing on the eye, the colour is a brown with just a hint of red, a stronger red would be a bit too much probably, the finish is half way between gloss and matt and the grip feels non-slip and comfortable. A nice touch is the colour matched ferrule. The standard size of 37 inches will need shortened before I use it, straightforward enough. Weight is lighter than expected. It's probably obvious I am very pleased with this cane. I should also compliment Amazon on their delivery logistics, despite a journey from the USA to Northern Ireland in the UK it arrived on the specified date. One last observation on US versus British language. Over here "cane" is a term usually used to describe a lightweight cane used by schoolteachers to inflict corporal punishment on pupils as in the days of my childhood; this punishment is no longer permitted. What the US calls a walking cane we call a walking stick. What the US calls a walking stick we call a walking staff. Whatever it's called, this is a good one.

This is a really great oak crook cane - at a fraction of Brazos' retail price, can't go wrong. Wanting something a little different, I purchased Brazos' root knob cane. This cane is pretty light, feels like it weighs around 250-260g. The knob handle is contoured to fit in the hand extremely well, making it more comfortable to hold than the oak crook cane. I've given 4 stars because there was a piece of bark under the handle that was already peeling off. It was an easy fix with some superglue, have glued the piece that was peeling off back onto the knob and now the gap is gone. Based on the reviews here on Amazon, it seems that it is not uncommon for these root canes to come with very small defects/imperfections; which I suppose is partially due to the unique nature of these one of a kind sticks, but Brazos could do a little better in their QC. Other than this minor issue, the lightness of the cane and the comfort of the handle makes it a joy to use; it was also fun getting Amazon to spin the wheel on the type of cane design you're going to get (getting a random design is probably not everyone's cup of tea).
