Cons: • The mouthpiece takes a little getting used to — feels awkward at first. • Doesn’t come with a detailed training guide, so you’ll need to pace yourself and figure out a routine. Overall: This little trainer really delivers on what it promises. It’s not a magic fix, but with regular use it absolutely strengthens your lungs and improves breathing control. I may or may not have undiagnosed sleep apnea. Everyone I've ever slept around tells me that I snore. I heard on a podcast that wind-instrument musicians have a dramatically lower incidence of sleep apnea, and the host mentioned he bought a breath resistance device to use in his workouts. I started doing breath resistance workouts with no equipment (more on that below) and noticed an improvement in my sleep quality within maybe 3 days or so. Specifically, I was sleeping through the entire night without waking up to go pee at 4am. I also started waking up after 7 hours of sleep mostly-fully rested (normally I need 8+). How do you do breath resistance workouts without equipment? Easy. Purse your lips and below. If you're not getting any resistance, purse your lips more. Problems with the no-equipment breath resistance training: 1) There's a limit to how much resistance I can put on my breath using just my lips. 2) It's harder to train inhaling for some reason. I had already dabbled with no-equipment breath resistance a year or two ago, but I fell off the habit because I just forgot. Honestly, I ordered this device to leave it on my bathroom counter, just so I could stare at something to remind me to do it. It turns out, I love this device! The mouth piece is super comfortable. I also like to think I'm well-tuned into what off-gassing plastic smells like, and this one doesn't seem to be a problem for off-gassing. Additionally, you're only using this device for 90 seconds, right? Because inhaling and exhaling are tuned using the same knob, I've learned that my inhaling is weaker than my exhaling. Oh well, the two will even out as I use the device longer. This one also looks more durable and more no-nonsense than the other name-brand product here on Amazon, the white bulb one. That one looks cheap honestly, this one is a durable piece of equipment.

After using this product I could see improvement in my weight increment with less effort. This is better than smelling salt.
