The zipper is plastic but made by YKK and it has worked good i just wish it had the original zipper! Hope this helps!! **Q: What are the sleeve lengths?** A: Don't know the exact sleeve lengths but lm 6"1' and 176lbs, have very long arms and the medium/large size jacket, the sleeves are definitely long enough. **Q: Should you order a size down for fit** A: I can only speak from experience on the 1 size that I ordered but for me medium was pretty accurate maybe even I tiny bit on the smaller size. If you were a big medium I'd recommend large.
