One of my dogs is terrified if thunderstorms. This really works. He settles down right away. I Recommend it for dog owners whose animals are afraid of storms. It fits my 20 pound dog. And, once you master how to put it on the dog all is well. It is funny to put this on your shaking dog and getting all the Velcro where is belongs (it comes with directions)

I have an 90lb Staffordshire Bull Terrier who is literally a big baby scared of her own shadow and any sudden loud noises. She will have insane panic attacks where she hyperventilates, shakes, pants, paces, hides in closets or bath tubs and will last for hours even after the noise is done. We recently had a carbon monoxide detector battery alert send her into an episode. But of course the week before and after 4th of July is the worst. We try everything from prescription drugs, CBD oil etc. and nothing works. I decided to purchase this product which I will link below and attach pictures. Let me tell you I honestly thought I was going to waste my $35 bucks. But the reviews on there were amazing so I thought WTH. Anyhow this past week, she (my dog) was not phased at all by the fire works, I wanted to wait until after last night to post my real review of this product before I share it. HOLY COW, my neighborhood was shooting loud and crazy amounts of fireworks (more then in the past) 😡 and she sat at the top of the stairs in her comfort spot and laid there most of the night calm as can be. I did not give her CBD or meds either, tho they were on hand. Not once did she freak out. NO PANTING, NO SHAKING, NO HIDDING, She even went out side to pee with no problem. In the past she would hold it all night. This product was life changing. I can’t guarentee this will work for outside dogs. My dog is inside all the time except for walks, sunbathing or play time outside and potty trips. Calming vest for dogs. Worth EVERY PENNY! It’s a thin cotton material, strong Velcro straps. She actually gets upset when we take it off her. She loves it as much as I do. For reference this is an extra large vest and my girl is a BIG FAT GIRL and the XL was huge but is easy to adjust and tighten to her size. I want one in every color for her now!

The item itself is nice quality and seems to calm my dog. Giving 4 stars as the large does not fit my 50lbs medium size dog correctly. XL is sold out but I assume it's not large enough for an XL dog either.

Excellent fit and machine washable. Didn't notice abehavior difference.

My small dog has always been somewhat anxious since I rescued her. Recently her anxiety has increased. She loves the Calming Coat and becomes excited when I put it on. She still displays signs of anxiety but less often and seems to feel safe with her coat on. The quality is excellent. Material is good, the right thickness. Very easy to put on. Great value.

I am horrified to say that after 6 weeks or regular use with no incidents, I took this off my foster dog to be washed, as I do weekly, and he screamed! I picked him up & noticed blood on my shirt. I quickly scanned him over and found a sore on him from where this shirt had RUBBED HIM RAW! I have other foster dogs who wear other brands of shirts & none have ever had this problem. I have 2 other dogs who wear “compression shirts” nonstop due to their incredible anxiety, and in all my years of rescue, I have never had one cause sores. Needless to say, I will not be using this shirt again! And of all dogs, this was the most fearful dog I have. I can only hope I didn’t do more damage to him. *****below was my original review***** I volunteer with a not for profit small dog sanctuary. We take in abused dogs, some have been damaged, used as bait dogs, beaten by their previous owners... some are just mysteries. I got this for a tiny chihuahua-mix who cowered in the corner & screamed when frightened. I’m pleased to say that this has been helpful. After noticing that he was comforted when held tightly. After reading a couple reviews that pointed out how this was a lighter made material, I took a risk on this vs the thunder shirt. This poor dog needs to have this on all the time, and would be far too warm with his long coat (we live in Florida) I noticed that he seems happier, more confident, and willing to come around with other dogs. He still won’t go outside, but his tail is wagging and the screaming has been minimal now. I’d call this a very useful tool, especially as a daily wear item. Combined with clicker training, praise, and positive reinforcement, this is definitely worth the price. As others mentioned, use CHEST SIZE to order. My guy is 8 lbs and I ordered the XS. It was almost too large for him. I’m going to wash in hot to shrink it a bit if possible. Will add to the review if anything eventful happens after washing. ;) I would order again. And I will if I need another once this little guy is rehomed. Excellent investment.

My Shih Tzu Dachshund (Schweenie breed) was abused by his previous owner and has extreme separation anxiety. He has several behavioral issues as a result. We've tried a number of things to help him deal with his anxiety (which presents itself as excessive barking, whining and aggression). My husband often gives into the whining that occurs when he has to leave the house by taking him with him wherever he goes. This also poses another issue, when our Schweenie, Rufus, is in the car he often barks at people, at nothing, he has even ripped the wires out of our back window that control the defrost. He thinks that everything around him, real or imagined, is a threat. Today, my husband put Rufus in the car (as he often does) without the jacket. Rufus immediately (as usual) started barking like a mad-man at the wind blowing, at people, at nothing - like he does. I ran inside and got the jacket, put it on him, and the barking stopped INSTANTLY. My husband and I walked away from the car, just to see what would happen. To my surprise, NOTHING. Not a peep. People walked by, no barking. The wind blew, he didnt move - just watched. I was SHOCKED to say the least. We adopted Rufus 2 years ago and this is the first thing that has really worked to help manage his anxiety. I have already ordered a backup. I am a believer. If you have a pup, like Rufus who cries when you leave, barks at everything he considers a threat, gets upset by loud noises -- give this a try. I hope that you find that you're as genuinely surprised as we are. UPDATE: Rufus got very upset when I tried to take it off of him. Once I was able to get it off of him, he pouted. I think he loves it too.

I must first say that I am not a perspn who just wtites (great) or (good) for a product review. I want to be very turalI as to how I have expeerienced the product. I was going to return this coat I had originally bought for my 4 lb yorkie. When I received it I was super excited. Then I realized it was one size too big, and it was the smallest size available. However I used my brain and just wrapped it around her twice and pined it in place. It works great! Zarah is a three year old yorkie with great anxiety. Please note my Zarah id a hand full who had failed six training classes due to her being stubborn, and made a trainer quit. Since using this coat she has been calm and very happy, Zarah even walks on her leash shes a 100% different fur babby. I must admit that after reading some reviews I was nervous that the coat wouldn't help Zarah, but it did and it's great. So take it from me who had 8 rescue dogs and one very small yorkie, this coat is great and I love it. No return is needed for this coat. So don't be nervous about buying this coat its great, and all animals are going to react differently with everything. I am happy to say that I have had a great outcome, Thank you for this great product I will post some pictures of Zarah wearing her calming coat.
