South Americaโs largest nation is home to over 1,800 species of birdsโover 250 of which are endemicsโspread across six major biomes: Amazรดnia, Cerrado, Caatinga, Mata Atlรขntica, Pantanal, and Pampa. Brazil is as vast as it is diverse, making it a world-class destination for learning about and exploring bird life in its many colors and forms. To help you cut through the clutter and get acquainted with the species you are most likely to see, we have created this portable reference, beautifully illustrated with 140 familiar species. Laminated for durability, this lightweight, 12-panel folding pocket guide is a terrific companion for educators, learners, naturalists, and birders who wish to establish a solid foundation of knowledge about Brazilโs most common birds. Made in the USA. Review: Incredible photos - Very good colors and illustrations. Review: Good guide for the casual birder visiting Brazil - Look, it's a fold out guide that was relative inexpensive. As I recall, Brazil has over 800 birds that are indigenous to the country and another 400 that pass through. This guide does a fairly good job of covering the most frequently observable. I think that if a person is a casual birder visiting Brazil (as I am/was), the guide is very useful. With this guide, I was able to identify most (75%,?) of the birds I saw.

Laminated folding guide is easier to carry than a book
Especially liked the waterproof coating. Heading to Brazil in less than a week and will keep this in my camera bag.

Compact and Handy
Brazil is a huge country and has hundreds of species of birds, but we loved the Puerto Rico guide which we used for our trip to PR, so we are confident that this guide will get a good workout when we go to Brazil next year, and sure beats carrying the full field guide in the field.

Useful for a superficial overview
This was useful for a short visit and it is a solid and handy guide for a short visit. If you are really interested in birds though, it doesn't really cover enough of the birds of Brazil. I ended up buying another book on location. Still it was a good start!

Honeymooners loved it
I got this for my son-in-law to take with him on honeymoon with my daughter to Brazil. He loved it - took it everywhere and came back with quite a number of birds ticked off.
