Backstory, I was looking for a new gaming headset, and I went with the very highly reviewed hyperx cloud alpha S, and hated it. I decided to try this one out because I’ve always enjoyed razer products, even if there are a few bad reviews. This headset blows the HyperX out of the water. Better sound, way better comfort, clearer mic, and the hyper sense haptic thing is game changing. Pros: -excellent sound quality -Very comfortable. Ear cups don’t press on jaw like the HyperX, padding is thicker and more resilient feeling. -Noise cancelling is just right. Little things don’t break immersion, but if someone falls down the stairs or the house catches fire, you’ll hear it. -mic is very clear. The synapse tests and peer reviews tell me this is the clearest mic I’ve used, plus it has separate adjustable thresholds for volume, background noise filtering, and voice clarification -Hyper Sense Haptics…. I think this was mostly for People playing FPS games, makes gunfire and such “feel” more real, but as someone who always has Spotify up while gaming, I Love the simulated base this adds in on low/medium settings. You could never get base like that from speakers that strap to your head, but the haptics can emulate having a nice sub nearby. Very nice touch. -RGB is a tasteful accent, not garish. I also like that I can set which colors I want in my spectrum for various patterns. Setting this to just the shades of blue and green is very nice, and matches the Corsair RGB on my desk/tower Cons: -No mute light on mic. This is a nice feature most brands have and I’ve gotten used to. Nice visible indicator that I have my mic muted to prevent embarrassing over sharing. -Thx surround feature sounds bad. I’m sure it’s great for FPS players that are willing to sacrifice sound quality to have better directional sense, but I’m not a FPS player so it’s not worth the drop in quality. This one isn’t really a detriment, it’s just a feature I don’t use. Sound quality with THX left off is phenomenal. Overall I’m super excited about this one. This is the best headset I’ve had in my 15+ years of gaming headset usage. Highly recommended.

I recently had to replace my aging gaming headphones MPOW EG3's which at the time I bought them worked really well for my needs. I thought that I would get an "upgrade" so I tried a pair of wireless headphones which sounded horrible and had no eq software. I tried another wireless headphone and then another. Both times the native sound to the headphones had way too much bass and mids were dull and washy. The software that came with both of them simply did not work; the $140 pair had a reddit post that which gave workarounds for software glitches which they haven't bothered to fix for at least 3 years. Finally I decided to return to wired and I AM SO GLAD that I chose these headphones. Sounded great out of the box, but still a little too much bass. BUT THE EQ SOFTWARE ACTUALLY WORKS! I am a bit of an audiophile as I edit videos for a living, so being able to adjust audio is something I expect. I tried these with a game that know is hard for headphones to get correct, as it has a lot of mixed bass and mids with environmental sounds and music. These headphones with just a few little tweaks SOUND GREAT! They aren't meant for mixing or mastering music--but they ARE GREAT AS GAMING HEADPHONES!

As I write this review I have only had these for 2 days so I will not speak to the quality of the product as far as wear and tear goes. Suffice to say I've never had an issue personally with razer products holding up over time. You might think sound quality took a hit by the added haptic feature compared to other razer products in this price range. I'm happy to report it has not. It is still, in my opinion, one of the best sounding headphones you can get at this price range. In fact, if your game supports THX, which granted is rare, the 7.1 really shines. I've played both Forza Horizon 5 and Warframe (both support THX) and I can tell exactly where sounds are coming from. Comfort. This is where it takes a small hit for me. I'm a big guy. I have a fat head and big ears. These have slightly smaller cups than previous Kraken models I have owned. They also do not "breathe" as well so for longer gaming sessions you will feel it a little. Its not major and doesn't make you feel like you need to take them off. But the slightly larger cups of the past would have been greatly welcome for fat heads like me. Now for the big question for anyone switching to Haptic. Is it worth it? What does it do exactly? Well let me tell you. Its amazing. 100% worth it if you are in the market for new headphones. Like I said, the quality of the sound is there for Razers so if for any reason you don't like the haptic you can easily turn that off. I don't see how you wouldn't like it though. Haptic adds rumbles or thumps depending on whats going on that make you feel what is going on. It can range from a thump and rumbling from an explosion, to tiny thumps with each bullet you fire/get hit by. When watching shows you feel the explosions or say horses run by, you can feel each individual foot step. In one situation an electrified blade was swung by a characters head and it actually felt like the blade was swung right by my head. That said there is a couple things to say that are the downside to the haptic and why it is a 4 instead of a 5 for me. It has 3 settings. Low, medium, and high. I'm not sure why low is there. It may as well be off. Medium is where I keep it and sometimes it has trouble deciding what to do. I will notice it missing explosions or half way kicking in and then stopping. It seems to be very volume dependent which also means it is dependent on how the sound production is as well. The high setting is kind of nuts with how much power the vibrations can get. Enough so that while it doesn't actually distort the sound you will still feel as if it does. High to me, and it seems most people is to much. I really wish there was a setting between medium and high. And lastly voice chat. The haptic can and does pick up with voices. When gaming its not really a big deal. Got used to it in just a couple hours. If/when you are just talking, playing D&D, watching a podcast, simply just turn the haptic off. Music. There really isn't much to say here. Its simply amazing what a little rumble in your ear on deep notes, drums, even bells can add. If you are into rap you will get that vibration in your head just like you would at the club on those bass hits. All in all I HIGHLY recommend giving these a try if you are needing new head phones or have the disposable income to try something different. Even with the misses the haptic sometimes has, the benefits far outweigh the downsides. It really does add that next level to audio. One last thing. The razer synapse program is great. It allows you to set several different profiles for those that love to mess with the equalizer and then easily set which apps/programs use which profiles. If you have a few different profiles for more highs or lows depending on what your watching, you can easily switch which profile the app uses with a drop down menu.

From the bass to the comfortability of the foam of the headset, this headset excels in sound, comfort, mic quality, and weight. Must buy if you ask me.

I got this upgrade since my V2's cable mostly died after a few years. This model for some reason has earcups nearly HALF the size of the V2s. Check out the comparison photo. I'm a petite woman and they're just too small even for me, I have no idea who they would fit comfortably. The V2 ear cups encompassed the whole ear without any pressure points, but these tiny ear cups are very uncomfortable even if you rotate them to an angle that matches your ear shape. I had a headache come on about 5 minutes into wearing them. I've never had to try to painfully "break in" a $120 headset before. And if you think you can swap out the earcups with the bigger V2 ones - think again. They completely redesigned the earcup attachment mechanism to somehow be worse, so they're incompatible and there are no other V3 ear cup sizes on the market as of writing this review. So good luck if you have big ears which I supposedly have because somehow all these 5 stars reviews say these things are comfortable. From my tests of the audio, the sound is great to me. I like that the boom mic cushion is removable. I miss the retractable mic of the V2 though. And I miss the mute button being on the mic with a red light indicator when muted. The volume scroll wheel on the headset is sort of annoying since it's easy to accidentally nudge it removing and putting them on and then have to readjust the volume back to where it was every time. I'm going to keep these for now though, and if they don't "break in" soon I will consider returning them. I'm disappointed. EDIT: After directly comparing the audio to the 7.1 Kraken V2s, the sound quality on these is a lot worse actually. The haptic feedback is nice when playing music with heavy bass, but I had to do a lot of manual editing of the EQ levels in the Synapse software to get more "punch" out of the audio in the mid-high ranges listening to music, and put the headphones in Stereo instead of the THX mode which just sounds muddy. The default mic quality was trash to I had to disable all of the "mic enhancements" in Synapse as well to get it sounding good, but the mic quality is noticeably worse than the V2s. The V2s had such amazing sound quality I absolutely loved them for music, but these do not compare. I'm just overall pretty disappointed with these. I may just keep them for the LED coolness factor but I'm on the fence about returning them as they're worse in almost every way. EDIT 2: I returned them and knocked the rating down to 1 star. I spent a long time trying to troubleshoot the audio. When I looked the issue up online I discovered 3 months ago since writing this review, Razer released a Synapse update that worsened the sound quality across their whole headset line for tons of customers and then doubled down on the update so there's no hope of improving the inferior sound quality of this headset now. Plus I started noticing cable nose and crackling/popping in the left ear which was the last straw. Avoid at all costs.

I've owned many headsets I have currently a Razer Kracken Ultimate USB and a Sheniser GSP 600 3.5mm on AE-5 and I run a Klipsch RM-15 in 5.1 on HDMI and 400watt sub. I have to say I love the haptics it give you the feeling of more powerful bass it's great and stronger than I imagined. Low setting is ok Med is perfect and high is very powerful. So I played a few hrs in games and some music and 2 full movies ID4 remastered and LOTR. They are super great for movies I love these and the build quality is great. Razer grear is way better than back in the day. This is the best headset I've got for the money and it looks nice and feels great to wear it's very light feeling on the head and I don't get pain on my earlobes like other headsets. I have kinda big ears and the fit nice in this one.

I only use Razer headsets. I like the thick cord. My cats have a hard time chewing through it. Great sound quality and bass. I dont use the mic anymore on them because I have a better one, but when I did they were also great.

Ich war nicht sehr zufrieden. Die Qualität der Verarbeitung ist gut aber der Sound ist nur ok. Der Bass ist zu stark, dass einem der Kopf vibriert. Den Sound vom Mirko finde ich nicht gut. Er ist etwas kratzig und viel schlechter als andere Razer headsets. Cool ist jedoch, dass man das Mikro abmachen kann.

Los audifonos tienen un audio decente, pero generan MUCHA estática y eso se ve reflejado en los sonidos “chirriantes” que muy a menudo se escuchan, es la primera vez que unos audífonos me generan un sonido tan desagradable, otro aspecto a tomar en cuenta es que su micrófono es HORRIBLE pues se escucha muy bajo y con calidad de audio pobre, la verdad no vale la pena tener estos audífonos solo por la tecnología háptica, si estas buscando audifonos te recomiendo los EPOS H3, son de mejor calidad y rondan por el mismo precio

I’ve been using the Razer Kraken V3 HyperSense headset for around 4 months now, replacing my old headset that broke, the Razer Kraken V3 X. For gaming it’s very much remarkable, does it's job well. The haptic feedback from the HyperSense feature adds a lot to the gaming experience. At times it has even enhanced spatial awareness. for example, in Rocket League, it helped me avoid being demolished from behind by an opponent, just from giving a directional cue, which is a subtle edge you don’t expect from a headset, really. The built-in THX Spatial Audio is serviceable, but nothing exceptional. It gives an attempt to boost immersion, but in my experience, it doesn’t give much. I don’t use it while listening to music as well, since it messes with the volume levels of other apps. For instance, it would make music playing in the background often much louder than your friends speaking in a voice call on Discord, which can be rather annoying. Comfort-wise, it’s not a lightweight headset at 344g, considerably heavier than my previous Kraken V3 X at 285g. That said, it took me about a month to get used to the weight, and yes, it can leave a headphone dent. It fits me snugly on the 7th notch out of 8, so it’s definitely designed for medium to large heads. Outside of gaming, the haptics feel a bit much - especially at the Medium or High setting. That might come down to personal preference, though. Sound quality is decent and customizable via Razer Synapse, which I found intuitive and easy to use. The microphone is one of the weaker parts of the headset. It works, and Razer Synapse gives you options like mic EQ, enhancements, and sidetone, which is nice. But don’t expect studio clarity, it's just enough for teammates to hear you clearly, and enough for my expectations. Unlike most top-end products from Razer, it doesn't have any built in profiles it can store. So if you were to bring this to another PC, you'd have to set it up manually back again unless you were to have a Razer account attached to Razer Central (and hence Razer Synapse), where it does that automatically for you - which is nice. But, you'd have to install Razer Synapse first if it's another PC or boot drive, and that can either be smooth or frustrating depending on the setup. Unfortunately, on the day I wrote this review (and also what prompted me to start writing it), I noticed a hairline crack on the left plastic part of the headband, where the HyperSense badge is. Still, it didn't affect comfort (as it's outside, not inside facing the head) and is of full usability. I'm not the type to abuse my stuff, though I’ve seen other reviewers here mention this too with attached images. It seems to be a common issue, so it's definitely something important to keep in mind. In conclusion, at $110 SGD on sale? Definitely worth considering if you’re a gamer looking to enjoy haptic feedback and a solid feature set. But at its current full price? There are better-built options out there. If you can snag it on sale, you're getting solid immersion and amazing features, just be aware of the trade-off in build quality.
