Visible in daylight, rechargeable friendly, amazing battery life, flexible mounting options!
This one is bright enough to get attention in the daylight - just want I want. But it's little obnoxious after dark and I usually switch to steady operation then. I love that it runs forever on rechargeable AAAs and even longer on Alkalines (particularly in flash mode). The clip on the light itself lends itself to being held onto a seatpost with a velcro strap instead of the bracket it comes with so no permanent fixtures required. After a few years, I did find that a sharp impact can occasionally separate the halves so I usually put a small piece of tape along either side so they can't jostle loose. This is less of a hassle than it seems considering how many rides you get between battery swaps. I have one of these that's over 10 years old and still kicking. Worth the extra money IMO!

Best taillight I know of. Note the distance the flash works.
I use these on all 7 bikes. The strobe effect will shoot light farther than any other light I know of. Works really well in light foggy conditions. The bayonet style mounting makes it easy to take it off and put onto another bike. There are mounting clips to mount it to the seat tube or the chain stay. There are additional mounts that can be purchased so you could move it from one bike to another. It's light weight and easy to turn on (2 modes) and the batteries usually last me the season (riding weekly, 40 weeks, 4 hours each).

thumbs up. Plastic, durable, and a long battery life for a commute. Solid option for generic riding.
Wow, this battery life is amazing. Bright, easy to install and adjust, and great value for the money. It is made of plastic, but if you aren't going through oceans or getting rocks thrown at you all the time you'll be fine. I've used it for nearly a year now, riding for about ten minutes three days a week every month, and haven't needed to recharge it yet. (24 total hours of use so far, and also water resistant)

Nice and bright, but doesn't include a rack mounting bracket
Rear luggage racks most often incorporate a standard mounting point for a rear light. So why does the best-selling daytime rear light not include the bracket to use this mount? -1* for this nasty little bit of cost-cutting. (Planet Bike's Grateful Red model includes the rack mount, but is not bright enough for daytime use) That's the ONLY complaint about this light. It's simple, has a suitable mode for any use, is lightweight, and affordable. Modes it has: - Solid on (low profile) - Superflash (daytime use; very bright & stroby) - Solid on with occasional flash (good for nighttime)

Best and brightest tail light for your bike.
I have been using this Planet Bike Super flash tail light for years and got another bike and wanted to have exactly the same light. This light is the brightest light I have found, and the battery lasts for many rides, and it only takes one battery, so I am not messing with the usb model of this light. The original is perfect and works superbly even in bright sunlight. I put mine on my under seat bag, and it stats just fine

Best Bike Light For The Money - Until I Got The Radbot 1000
Since I wrote the below review of the SuperFlash I bought two Portland Design Works Radbot 1000 lights. While the Planet Bike SuperFlash is still a fantastic light and you can't go wrong with it, the new Portland Design Works Radbot 1000 exceeds the SuperFlash in brightness. There is a Radbot 500, but it is about the same price as the 1000 so no reason to even consider the 500. One could argue that the flash pattern of the SuperFlash is more attention getting because of the frenetic flashing pattern (much like a led motorcycle cop light), but the Radbot is MUCH brighter. I have two SuperFashes on the front of my bike and two Radbot 1000's next to the SuperFlashes and the Radbots overpower the SuperFlashes. As far as price, I actually paid less for the Radbots. The SuperFlash is about $25 and I got the Radbots for $23 each. If you do get the Radbots, get the 1000, not the 500. But the SuperFlash is still an incredible light for the money. Maybe Planet Bike will feel the competition and up the game to match or beat the Radbot. But for now, the Radbot 1000 is the King for AAA battery lights at this price point. However, most of what I wrote below about the SuperFlash is still true. Original review of my Planet Bike SuperFlash lights before getting the Portland Design Works Radbot 1000: I have a total of 11 of these SuperFlash lights in the family being used a lot, with 7 of them on my bike alone. I've tested or researched almost every light that is out there and there is no comparison. This is the brightest and most visible AA or AAA battery light made and in this price range. Its strobe like pattern can be seen from blocks away. The only other light that is better in my opinion is the incredible Dinotte lights, and I have 5 of those. They cost about 8 times what the SuperFlash costs but they are worth every penny. If you want to be safe and be seen put at least one on the rear and one on the front. Out of the 11 we have, I've never had one problem with them. And the battery life is great. You won't be sorry if you get these lights and they just might save your life. But be prepared to have people stop you and ask where you got your light.

Small and VERY bright
This is my second one of these lights. The first ran for a solid five years and finally slipped into well-deserved rest. The build quality of this one seems identical. It feeds on AAA batteries (two) and battery life is excellent; I've accidentally left it on in "steady" mode and discovered it two days later, still burning. In steady mode it's noticeable without blinding your riding partners if you're on the road at night. In flash/strobe mode, it is VERY visible, even in daylight (the flash pattern includes the white light). I am a fan of the Planet Bike lights in general but this one is my hands-down favorite. I've picked up more expensive rechargeable lights but keep coming back to this one. At the price, you can't beat it

About the best bike taillight, definitely the best value
I do a lot of reading reviews before I buy almost anything, and this was no exception; when buying my wife's bike, I asked the shopowner about lights, and he said there were a lot of good headlights, but by far the best taillight was this one. I don't like buying on impulse, so I passed at that time. My wife and 7 year old son have Bell light sets from Walmart, and I have to say that that taillight is quite good, too, especially for the money. Most of our riding is at dusk, so I decided I needed a taillight for my bike, somewhat for myself, but also for riding with my son because I knew two lights were better than one, and his may be a bit low to be seen. I am glad I got this one; I felt it may be too bright for rearward approaching cars, but it is not. Once I looked behind me and saw the light blinking in a window reflection half a block away and it's just right in brilliance; it also has more of an effective sideward area and not just straight behind, and does so better than the Bell lights. It is plastic, of course, but is not flimsy; the switch is three way-blinking, steady, and off. The bracket fits my seatpost snugly, and could be mounted on wheel posts for a frontward light. If you can afford a bike, you can afford this light, and there is no reason of which I know to spend more. I do not do a lot of riding, so batteries should last a while, and when these go, I'll probably get lithium replacements. Attachment is a breeze, and there is a mounting clip/bracket that could fit on a belt, backpack, or such for versatility such as trick or treating, etc. I appreciate getting something and knowing this is just what I wanted and needed; this is one of those things.

Durabilidade

Very Bright
This is a great tail light. I have had the same one on my bike for over 10 years now and it still works great. The new one works just as good. I like the hardware for mounting. It does not come with cheap stretch and hook silicone, with options for the seat tube or brake rails. It also came with batteries. It costs more than a lot out there but I do not regret a penny of it. It is bright for evening/early morning and night riding. The lighting pattern is very effective. I prefer to use my own rechargeable batteries which has worked great as my first unit is still going strong for over a decade. internal batteries when used up renders the device useless. The light on the left in the picture is my old one and on the right is the new one.
