Seagate STKP8000400 Drive 3.5E USB 3.0 External Hard Drive

This Hard Drive has the usual Seagate reliability, but also has a massive storage capacity. I was able to put my entire iTunes library on it (over 800 movies and 1600 TV episodes, more than 2000 songs and 500 music videos) and still had 1TB of free storage space. For the price ($143), it is an awesome deal.

I buy hard drives based on the failure statistics from a large server farm. I always buy Seagate products because they have some of the lowest failure rates. Do your research first.

This came in handy since its time to back up my old drives before they fail. The seller was great offering assistance beyond the sale. I will definitely use them in the future.

I find the previous years model is just a tad slower, but hardly noticeable. Only 20 seconds over a three hour backup. I love these Seagate external drives. With 8TB, I can get 4 or 5 server backups per device. I never delete a backup, I just buy more drives.

Have used these with my video editing (over 100 TB of these hard drives) along with several multi-strip powered hubs. Works well. Been using them for years.

I bought this for a storage solution to an upcoming project so I did not use it right away. Now that I am needing it, I find that my advertised 8TB storage drive is only a 1TB drive. I have spent hours going over factory and other web sites trying to find a solution. I did all the proscribed processes and it simply comes down to they put a 1TB drive in an 8TB box/label - yet I paid the 8TB price. I am way beyond the return point for the purchase so I am basically hosed. It is my fault for waiting so long to actually use the unit, but I had no knowledge that it would be a problem as I have a 4TB version that works flawlessly. This drive is also very loud. I can hear the grinding and whirling as it tries to format the disk. My 4TB is quite as a faint whisper. Very disappointed in how this all turned out. No more Seagates for me.

It's fine. I bought it for the capacity and the price not the Speed north size it's kind of big it's like stepping back 20 years but that's also high capacity for a cheap price so if that's what you want it works. I went ahead and bought the aftermarket USB-C to hard drive adapter for a little extra edge on the speed.

Con un poco de retraso recibí este disco duro de gran capacidad de Seagate aprovechando una rebaja puntual. Sus 8 TB anunciados se quedan en unos aproximadamente 7,27 TB reales por aquello de las conversiones. Su rendimiento es muy bueno alcanzando velocidades cercanas a los 200MB/s, siempre teniendo en cuenta la capacidad de nuestro ordenador. La caja incluye todo lo necesario para su conexión: adaptador a la corriente y cable de datos SS, estándar en disco duros. Si tenéis cualquier otro disco duro externo rondando por ahí, seguramente os sirvan sus mismos cables. Por capacidad, velocidad y precio si lo encontráis a buen precio, es una opción a tener en cuenta con un buen diseño, un peso no demasiado elevado y la garantía de una marca como Seagate.
