Affordable Style for the Calligrapher During Work Hours. :)
I do calligraphy with an actual calligrapher's pen and tools, but for my everyday non-stop research and writing (not associated with calligraphy- practical uses) I need something that can help me write in my "font" and at ease. These fountain pens are going to be tougher than a ball point pen to use for a person who has not had a lot of experience with fountain pens, though if you have a style that coincides with calligraphy (slanted) then you'll probably have an easier time adjusting. I still use Pilot Precise Rolling Ball V5 pens for a lot of my writing because they are finer in tip, and do not require so much ink or space to write, and can give me a change in writing style, but I love BIC Disposable Fountain Pens for their convenience and style. I get a lot of compliments, though would not advocate this pen for every situation. If you need quick writing speed, or are not very fond of using pens or writing devices- then I would suggest sticking to a regular ball point pen.

Caps are flawed - don't get until fixed
The pen writes well but unless you're going to use it non-stop until the ink runs out, wait until they fix the problem with the caps. After you put the cap on the top of the pen it no longer snaps closed.

Pilot Varsity pens are better
Nice Pens. Fun to write with but I like Pilot Varsity pens better.

A Great Little Development in writing tools
I've always liked writing with a fountain pen... I feel it gives me more of a connection with the page (OK - a little bit of hyperbole). Nonetheless, I've bought many expensive fountain pens over the years; lost some, broken others, not been happy with still others... And that's why I'm pleased to say good things about BIC's disposable fountain pens. They actually feel good to write with, and in true BIC fashion, they "write first time, every time". They are well-balanced, smooth to write with, and so far, after a month of use, have not run out of ink. Now, that latter point is not particularly relevant, since I don't use them every day. Bottom line, though, is that I like the way they write and feel. Good value for money. Buy lots of them if you like fountain pens!

Nice pen, poorly designed cap
The tip of the pens are great for a disposable fountain pen. The length and weight are fine as well. My major issue with these pens is the caps always break. I wont buy anymore because of this major design flaw in the cap. When the caps crack, the pen is basically worthless/trash. 6 of 6 have cracked along the base within a few weeks of purchase.

Great for kids
When I was a kid I had to write with fountain pens. This is a great skill most kids don't get anymore in the U.S. I bought these pens for my kids and they love them. They work very well, and you don't have to worry if they drop them, break the tips or lose them. Great price and great performance for the price.

Love these Pens
I love to write with fountain pens. I bought these for work since my office buys the cheap crap and when I bought other pens they would come up missing ( go figure someone with nice pens and they come up missing in an office with crap pens), needless to say since I bought these none have come up missing as no one can seem to write with them :-). For a disposable fountain pen they last a long time and work great.

Bic Disposable Fountain Pens
The pens are quite scratchy while using, paper choice does not make a difference. Red ink is more pink quite light in color. Extremely disappointed expected the quality to be more of a fountain pen experience.
