The DocksLocks Jaws Lock is a patented locking device designed to protect SUP paddleboards and surfboards from theft. It is the only board lock that can attach to either a leash plug or fin box (when attached to an installed DocksLocks Fin Box Cleat).
Easily attach the Jaws Lock to your board’s leash plug or fin box (requires DocksLocks Fin Box Cleat sold separately). Must be paired with a DocksLocks security cable lock or other compatible cable lock to active the Jaws Lock. Multiple boards can be secured together using a single security cable for group outings. Quick to attach and intuitive to operate, it works right out of the box.
Crafted from marine-grade galvanized steel and encased in protective nylon, the Jaws Lock resists corrosion, rust, UV rays, and harsh outdoor elements, ensuring long-lasting security for your SUP or paddleboard.

Attach the Jaws Lock to a Fin Box Cleat installed in your board fin track. Fin Box Cleat is sold separately. DocksLocks recommends attaching the Jaws Lock to a fin box cleat for the most secure connection.
Alternatively, if your board has a recessed leash plug, you can clamp the Jaws Lock to the leash plug bar. NOTE: the Jaws Lock is not intended for all types of leash plug bars.
Using a DocksLocks Security Cable, run the cable through the metal ring at the top of the Jaws Lock, secure the cable around a secure object and lock the cable. Security cable sold separately.

**Q: What keeps the key closed? Just the cable going through it?**
A: You are correct - the cable going through the metal ring keeps the jaws closed. When you push the ring into the base/housing, it opens the jaws. When you pull the ring out of the base/housing, then the jaws will close. When the cable is run through the ring, you are unable to push the ring into the base/housing. **Q: Does the cleat (the piece that gets screwed into the fin) come with the jaw key?**
A: No key, the cable hold the jaw closed around the ring

**Q: Will it work on a hobbie kayak?**
A: The lock is designed specifically to close down on the captured rod at the back of a surfboard that holds the leash. Unless the kayak has something equivalent to this rod, it it not likely to work.

**Q: What is the diameter of the ring on the end? I have an existing cable for my kayak and need to know if it will fit through the ring on this.**
A: The ring diameter is 10mm.
