Great budget option!
This removes wood as well as the higher priced options. It is a course cut but great for heavier removal. I do custom trim work and am using it to cope my inside miters. This is 10x better than traditional flap disks and much more affordable than the name brand carving disks, while still delivering similar performance.

Works Great
I was surprised and impressed at how well it works. This is the first time using a wood grinder. My concern when ordering this grinding disk was how highly they recommended the $65 Kutsall tungsten carbide disk. This disk did a great job on my project and dosen't show any wear yet. I used it to grind 20 -6x6 Cedar fence rail edges for a more rustic appearance. It removed material quickly and was easy to control. Works good on soft wood with knots, have not tried with hardwood yet. It worked with my 18V grinder but a lot better with my corded grinder that has a lot more power. You can buy 5 of these for the cost of Kutsall.

Most efficient wood carving disc
I got this wood carving disc for my angle grinder, and it straight-up eats through material. Super sharp and removes wood fast, so it saves a ton of time. Itโs got a slight concave shape thatโs perfect for shaping and cutting angles with one smooth pass. You definitely gotta be careful thoughโthis thing is a beasth. If you're not paying attention, itโll bite back. But as long as you use it with respect, itโs hands down the most efficient tool Iโve used for carving. Iโve already bought a few moreโworth every penny.

It is a grab ripper.
I don't think I'm good enough to right a review as I'm not very artistic even to carve a simple tray. Sadly! My review would need to be that you keep that in mind. I suck at carving and wood creatively. So, with that said; it's easy to insert into a grinder. I would strongly suggest to secure your wood down and know what you are expecting to do before you do it because it is not a weak made blade. Strong, reliable, durable and sharp. It grabs and rips but if you're able to control the touch, it can make some wonderful skinning to actually deepening the grooves. I wouldn't dare post the monstrosity I ended up making, at all!. Too embarrassing. But the product is well made.

Aggressive Cutters, Even for Hardwoods
Iโve been using the more-convex 4.5โ discs for the past few months to shape bowls. Iโve tried several other brands of wood-carving discs for the angle grinder, including cheaper imports from Asia, and the OBA discs are the best Iโve found. Theyโre mild steel, so they donโt stay sharp for very long (when carving a large hardwood bowl, such as 20โ diameter and 12โ deep, I will often go through two or three discs in the process). But when sharp, they are super aggressive cutters, and, in my experience, well-behaved in terms of kick-back, binding, or pulling in unwanted directions. Iโve used them for local Hawaiian hardwoods (mango, lychee, Milo, Koa), and while they do dull more quickly, they still cut these hardwoods quite well. They do have their limits though, and local Kiawe wood (Janka hardness of 3500 or more) causes excessive chattering and rapid dulling). While using the discs I frequently (every few minutes) blow them off with a high-pressure air gun attached to my air compressor and this helps keep them cutting well for longer. Once the teeth become clogged with wood fiber and resins I soak them in drain de-clogger overnight and then brush out the teeth with a brass-bristle brush. The cleaned-off discs donโt cut hardwoods as well as new, but are still good for less demanding woods and for de-barking. I have found that, when cutting hardwoods, itโs helpful to keep the angle of attack and the degree of pressure somewhat lower in order to avoid chattering, which seems to result in bent teeth that quickly shorted the lifespan of the discs. My only complaint is that I wish the discs were available with carbide teeth. Changing the discs every hour or so of carving does become a nuisance, but a manageable one.

Holy ______ this is the sharpest cutting device I have ever used!
This is so darn sharp and spinning so darn fast that it is actually hard to use!! And I say that in a good way!! I didnโt feel any resistance when I put it to a piece of wood!! Ate that piece up fast. Not what I wanted to happen!! I didnโt buy it to make sawdust!! Next piece of wood I had to watch it carefully to stop when I needed to!! Once I got the hang of it, I was creating some great stuff. And a lot of sawdust.

Best wood carving blade in my experience
Amazingly useful and effective. Definitely have a good grip on your grinder while using this as it can suddenly grab onto the wood and this can result in serious personal injury. A face mask and eye protection are both essential as there will be a large amount of wood chips flying all over and especially in your direction. I used it to grind the bottom of a shed door which had been sticking for years. I would definitely buy this again.

Quality for the price.
I was a bit skeptical at first when considering purchasing this item buuttttt I can't express how impressed I am with this wood carving wheel for my grinder @ this price point. It has taken my woodworking projects to a whole new level! The first thing that struck me was the build quality. It feels sturdy and well-made, which is crucial when you're dealing with high-speed tools. I had no concerns about safety or durability from the moment I started using it. The carving wheel itself is a game-changer. It effortlessly removes wood material, allowing for precise shaping and detailing. It's incredibly versatile, from roughing out a design to adding intricate finishing touches. The control I have over my carving projects now is amazing. Just be absolutely sure of your body positioning when using this on a grinder... the kickback can be aggressive so be sure to wear proper personal protective equipment, face shield & kevlar lined gloves or cut resistant gloves are a must!! Would buy again forsure.

Works but
While it does work well to remove a large volume of wood quite quickly, it creates this crazy vortex of swirling sawdust that makes using it quite an experience. Definitely need fully sealed eye protection and a good dust mask, and expect a healthy serving of sawdust to get in your hair

Wow
Ive been a cabinetmaker for about 15 years now but this is the first time I've tried my hand at any sort of carving. I usually buy priceier tools to ensure the quality is there but since ths for for a one off project I opted for a cheaper route. Even though this isnt expensive I was really impressed with the quality and preformance. It eats through the wood not a problem at all. Im looking forward to the next job I get to use it on.

It worked great.
I have a huge property with lots of trees. Over the years tree roots would pop up on the lawn. I did not want to hit them with the mower. I used to use a chain saw to carve them down. But they are so close to the ground, if the chain hits the dirt it dulls it extremely fast. This disk just grinds through them like a knife through butter. The groves in the disk do get clogged but they are easy to clean out and way you go again. Just a great tool.
