Stargate: The Blu-Ray Collection

This collection of disks is marked region a for USA only, but they all played on my pc or xbox with no problem I have not watched all the episode but I have tried all the discs and they load up with no problems. They only thing I had trouble with is the pouches the disks came in you have to slide them out without getting finger prints on bottom of disk. Picture quality is great after watching them on dvd for ages I would recommend this set.

Firstly, I am in England UK. I write this on 26th May 2022. I played the first SG1 blu-ray disc on a region B player and it worked. I read on the forums that they were non-region encoded (even though it says region-1). I took the chance and bought the set and they appear to be right. Ive not checked all the discs yet, but I know most people reading this want to know that info first. That they work in the UK. Quality is definitely enhanced over the DVDs, and even the amazon prime files. These are high quality upscales and they have done a great job. The blacks are deep and there is very little hazing around the edges of text. These are a beauty to watch and fill every inch of my 70” screen. No black bars at the top or bottom either. I love them! I would be lying if I said the pilot (which I am watching as I write this) looks perfect. You can tell its an upscale and the wormhole effect is a little low-res. And the walls behind the actors look a little bland on occasion. Not as sharp as a normal blu ray recorded in HD. But the actors look clear and it sounds great as well. Sound is in either stereo (as standard) or 5.1 when I change to channel 2. Further more, there are just 6 episodes per disc, which is another plus as it means there not squashing as many eps onto the same disc as possible (which lowers quality). With 6 eps, they keep the quality level high. Whoever put this set together did so with respect for the show. The menus are also nice and easy to navigate. I did read the making off special features have been ported over onto the last discs of each season, but there is no audio-commentary on the pilot and I doubt its on any of the other episodes either. So don't discard the Dvds just yet if you like your commentaries. I will update this review once I've watched more eps and gone through more discs. But for now, I wanted you to know it appears to be a great purchase and well worth buying to upgrade the viewing quality of the show itself.

Box arrived with a fair amount of damage on the product

After watching season 1-7 with no issues, on disc 3 of season 8 the disc won’t play. The player says there’s an error and the disc is unreadable. So the whole of SG-1 is useless as you can’t miss out watching the episodes on a disc as you won’t know what’s going on. I’m so disappointed as I'm now wondering how many other discs could be like this and the set cost me a lot of money.

Great looking boxset and all on Blu-ray but I’ve only just received and noticed that I have NO season 1 disc 1 but 2 season 1 disc 2’s 🤯 come on

This is a great collection of the three Stargate series. The discs are well packaged, especially considering how many there are. They are in "booklets" of thin, double sided sleeves, and the "booklets" are snuggly kept inside a big compartment of the outer plastic shell. The three shells fit in a cardboard case. The discs themselves are high quality and I haven't had a single problem with them. The Blu Ray mastering is crisp and clear. I had all three seasons on DVD and I'm glad I upgraded to high definition. However, while you get all three series, be aware that you will not get the original Stargate movie, or the two post-series movies, or the "Origins" miniseries and movie.

well worth the price. excellent series. by all means better to buy all three than separately.

Bought these as a gift for my mom and she loved them!

I’ve only completed season 4 so far, I think it’s going great, there’s a lot of good content and theories about what humanity could encounter if we were to traverse the universe. Unfortunately it’s unlikely to happen until we can find a way to collectively pull our heads out of where the sun doesn’t shine.
