This stuff is GREAT! I’m a beginner sculptor working with just 1 side sculpts at a time .The picture I put is how it looked before I sand! I will put a picture with the final smooth product . I use it to cast my sculptures . Yes I am not talking about terrain stuff, I mean actual sculptures where I need a smooth surface! I let it dry for a couple days, 4 days at least . And then I sand it, apply more sculptamold to fill any holes, then let it dry again and sand and apply gesso let that dry and re sand /Top with gesso. Yah it’s more work than just using other stuff to cast in, but It works beautifully !! I didn’t want something super heavy , so this sculptamold works great, it’s cheap, study and it’s naturally white so I can paint it easily. I tried dropping my sculpture a bunch to see if it would crack, (it didn’t and all!) but I think I’ll do a better test with a sculpture that I wouldn’t care if broke or not so that I can fully see how it would hold up.

Sculptamold is pretty much a necessity for a model train layout and this product does not disappoint.

This is the best modeling compound, ever. It is like papier-mâché and plaster of Paris combined, but with a clay-like consistency that you can work with in different ways. If you want a clay-like, hand-moldable substance, just add less water. If you want a slurry, add more water. Be aware that the normal combination is 2 parts of Sculptamold to 1 part water. When working with Sculptamold, I use fine chicken wire with 0.5-inch openings or hardware cloth as the support structure. I apply Sculptamold over the hardware cloth or fine chicken wire like clay. For sculptures, I use chicken wire & steel wire, forming the basic form, then applying Sculptamold over the wire "armature." Sculptamold will harden in about one hour. It will remain "wet" but hard for a couple of days, or sooner, depending upon your region's humidity level. In a dry, desert environment, Sculptamold will cure faster. Before painting, wait until it is completely bone dry. It will also feel lighter than it was when it was "wet." After painting, allow both the paint and the Sculptamold to dry completely again. If you want to make your sculpture more resistant to moisture, you can apply epoxy resin over it. I apply epoxy resin over the finished & painted piece when I am making reptile hide caves and artificial hollow logs. Once done, it is almost like stonework.

Easy to use product to make landscape, hills and mountains for your diorama or model railroad. Add water and mix, to a peanut butter consistency. You'll have about 8 to 10 minutes to make the shape and it will dry hard ready to paint.

This is grear stuff for making model train layout scenery. Make just a little at a time as it sets up quickly.

I love the use and ease of this product. The texture, quality and durability is excellent for the project I used it for and it turned out excellent for a first time beginner like me. I most definitely will be buying it again. Oh, and another thing it doesn't have a smell at all.

Sculptamold can take 24 hours to dry. You manipulate for a time.

Nel poco tempo libero che ho mi diletto nella realizzazione di paesaggi naturali e di diorami di vario genere.. È da tempo che cercavo una soluzione definitiva per scolpire e raffigurare al meglio le mie scene...dopo aver letto molte recensioni ho deciso di acquistare questo prodotto della Scuptamold. Devo dire che fin da subito mi sono trovato bene in quanto questo materiale si miscela facilmente con acqua e si fissa Come il gesso in circa 30minuti . Il composto aderisce bene alla maggior parte delle superfici (pulite) e può essere asciugato anche in forno a 200gradi. Quando è asciutto può essere levigato o scolpito senza scheggiature. Sono molto soddisfatto del mio acquisto e mi sento di consigliarlo!
