Great heater for the price!!
I’ve been using the HiTauing submersible heater in my 75, 125, and two 10 gallon freshwater tanks for a few weeks now, and I’m really happy with how steady it keeps the water temperature. The dual temperature control works great — I can toggle between °C and °F easily, and the LED display is bright and clear. One of the best things is the safety features: there’s a water sensor that shuts the heater off if it’s not fully submerged, and it also cuts out if it overheats, which gives me peace of mind when I’m away. According to the manual, those features help protect both the heater and my fish. m.media-amazon.com +1 It also heats up pretty fast, thanks to the nickel-chromium heating core. reviewaqua.com +1 The casing feels solid — explosion-proof quartz glass — and the suction cups hold it firmly to the tank wall. reviewaqua.com +1 If I had to nitpick, the controller wires are a little short, so positioning the heater just right takes a bit of thought. But overall, it’s a reliable, high-performing heater for a great price — exactly what I was looking for.

Great heaters! I bought two! ACCURATE!
Instead of one big heater, I bought two 300 watt heaters for my 75 gallon aquarium. I have them both set at 74 degrees. I have verified their accuracy with several different types of thermometers. Our room temp is 65 degrees during the cool / cold months. Between the two heaters it seems that they are hardly working. The green lights mean that they are not actively heating. When they are heating there is a red light instead of green. Running two smaller heaters rather than one big one is good because I have a backup. Plus, neither one is taxed with the job of doing it all by just one heater. So far the heaters are working superbly. Staying right where they should be. I really like the visibility of the controllers. They are easy to operate and set. I also like the fact that the heaters themselves are black. They just blend right in. Also, these heaters have a three prong grounded plug and the cords are heavy gauge. I do not understand why some heaters are made without the ground plug. I am 110% satisfied with these heaters!

Reliable Heaters with Smart Design Features
I currently use seven of these heaters in various freshwater aquariums (three 50W, two 200W, and two 500W models). Performance & Reliability: While I've only had them for a few months, they've been consistently reliable and accurate in temperature regulation. In one of my tanks, I have two of these heaters, each on a separate external temperature controller (heater set at 80°F with secondary thermostat at 74°F), creating excellent redundancy. This arrangement provides complete fault tolerance - the tank would only overheat if both the heater and its corresponding thermostat failed simultaneously, and would only drop to room temperature if both heating systems failed together. Despite being power-cycled multiple times daily through this setup, the heaters maintain their setpoints and continue to function flawlessly. Design Improvements vs. standard heaters: These should theoretically outlast traditional heaters for two reasons: -They use thermocouples instead of bimetallic strip thermostats, which are less prone to wear -The control logic is located outside the water in a pod on the cord, reducing water exposure to electronics Installation Consideration: The only potential issue is that the heater is permanently attached to the temperature controller. This means the thinnest part of the assembly is actually the heater itself. For tanks requiring the power cord to pass through a small opening (like my euro-braced tank which does not use a conventional lid), you'll need an opening large enough for the entire heater assembly to pass through. Additional Features: They include an extra suction cup, which is a thoughtful touch. **General Aquarium Advice:** For any aquarium setup, I strongly recommend using two smaller heaters rather than one large one. This provides limited fault tolerance without introducing the complexity of my external thermostat setup. If a heater sticks on, being lower-wattage, it will take longer to overheat the tank, and if a heater sticks off the other will still provide some heat. I wouldn't trust any brand of heater without at least this level of redundancy. Bottom Line: Highly recommended based on my experience so far. These heaters deliver on the essentials with some smart design improvements over traditional models.

Very simple and effective
I’ve had multiple of these for different tanks. Love the ease of use. Very straight forward a temp for the water and another number for the set temp. Had one last over two years and got broke in a move but worth even the shortened time it lasted. If you’re close to one’s capability just get the next watt size up

Awesome but needs different suction cups
Purchased the 500w for my 75gal tank. Has been working wonderful. However only fault I've found is the suction cups have corroded after only 6months, now need to find replacement suction cups.

A great heater for a large tank
Love this heater!! It's perfect for my 80 gal. tank and because my cichlid requires a higher water temperature, I can just look at the digital read out.

It burnt up.
It burnt up in my aquarium. Maybe I got a defective one. I bought this 300 watt aquarium heater in October of 2024 for my 65 gallon tall tank. From the beginning it didn't seem to heat the aquarium warm enough to 80 degrees. I had it next to the filter pump for flow and even set it to 84 degrees and it still never would keep a consistent warm temperature. But I was past the return window so i dealt with it. The final straw was today, when I did not unplug it when I was doing a water change (I thought I did when I unplugged the filter next to it). I normally do, but It says it has overheat protection that shuts the heater off when it gets to hot or is no longer submerged. No it doesn't! I walked over to the sink where my pump was draining the water into the sink for about 2 minutes. When I came back to the tank I smelled a burning plastic smell but didn't realize that the heater was burning and melting. I walked away for 30 seconds and came back going between the sink and tank trying to figure out what the smell was. Next I see smoke coming from the top of the tank and I hear a crackling noise. I look down into the tank and see the heater burning. I unplugged it and it still was melting. I managed to get a spatula and get the suction cups released from the tank and got the heater outside on the pavement, it was still crackling. Luckily it did not explode. My 9 inch 4 year old Severum is severely stressed, she usually likes to stay near the heater. Some of the black plastic and chemicals from it melting got in the water before I realized it was burning. Thank God it didn't crack my glass tank. I have learned my lesson not to buy knock off brands or to trust their safety features. And I have went back to the major store brand for my purchases.

Keeps my aquarium water within one degree of what I set it at.
This arrived quickly and was very easy to install. It works great. I love the digital display.
