Is the lid removable ?

You do not want the lid to be removable because that would require an extra (third) hand for operating the devise; and a clean and safe place to set down a removed lid. It is sufficient for the pot alone (and steamer tray) to be removable.

I have the 8-cup one and the brown rice setting cooks quinoa perfectly! You have to soak it first (minimum 6 hours) but it comes out fully cooked, light and fluffy! I just purchased the larger 20-cup cooker (the 8-cup doesn't hold enough veggies for me) and am sure the brown rice setting on the larger cooker will make quinoa perfectly as well.

Does this rice cooker have a chime/bell to let you know when its done cooking? also does it have an off switch? The current one i have has to be unplugged when not in use.

Hi Judy - Yes this does have a beeper. When the rice is done it beeps on and off for about 5-6 seconds and automatically switches to keep warm. Once you're done you can press the power button and it toggles off so no need to unplug.

Is the slow cooker setting high or low? Most recipes say 4-6 hours for high and 8-10 hours for low. Does it turn off automatically?

The slow cooker function is high and runs around 165+ F. The "keep warm" function is low and is 145ish F degrees.
