2014 DODGE JOURNEY CLICKING GONE!!
perfect fit for my 2014 dodge journey. PLEASE READ THIS .....PLUG THE NEW ACTUATOR IN TO THE OLD PLUG FROM THE OLD ACTUATOR GOING TO THE CAR THEN TURN THE CAR ON YOU SHOULD SEE THE GEAR ON THE ACTUATOR TURN TO THE CARS SET POSITION. I BATTLED PUTTING IT IN FOR 10 MINUTES BEFORE STUMBLING UPON DOING THIS THROUGH TRYING EVERY METHOD. ONCE IT TURNS INTO WHERE ITS SUPPOSE TO BE PUT IN ITS EXISTING LOCATION AND IT WILL LINE RIGHT UP. Once installed it work just fine and the annoying clicking has completely went away!! Oh and prepare for stubborn screws ahead of time that are in a hard hard location. Took me an hour to get the old ones out once they were out , process was easy!

Works well for my application...
Installed yesterday, so not sure about longevity... but it worked and corrected the problem on my 2015 JKU Jeep. I used this for the temperature blender door (found on the driver's side kind of behind the radio console area). Tough to get to, but I followed some youtube videos and AI advice, and it took me about an hour-and-a half to complete. You will need a 1/4 drive and some extensions, an 8mm and 10mm sockets and a stubby phillips head screwdriver for this particular actuator (there are three in my Jeep, and this may have been the easy one. Edit: Because it is not OEM, there i a slight glitch that some maybe upset about... OEM blender motor will communicate with your ECM right away, this unit does not, so it takes about 10-20 seconds to find it's last setting when you start up the vehicle. It returns to the same setting you left it on, but it will not blow AC at first start up. Still, no errors or issues, it just has this slight lag at startup. When I installed it, I did not even notice, but when I did, I looked online and sure enough, other people were talking about this. Seems like OEM is the best, but this part works fine for me for a lot less.

PITA to install but works!
The recirc motor in my kids 2016 jeep patriot was making all sorts of banging noises. Holy cr@p though this was a pain to replace! I'm very mechanical and have been working on vehicles for 25 years and this kind of stuff boggles my mind why an engineer would place them where they do. You will have to remove the glove box which is easy. Then remove the cover above the foot well, held in with 2 pop pins. You can reach in and unplug the motor from there easily. But then it will be a struggle with a right angle ratchet screwdriver to get the 2 silver screws out holding this in place. The lower one isn't bad but the top screw is done by feel, completely blind. And you'll have to be lying down across the drivers seat with your head down on the floor contorted and cursing to get to it. They are plain Phillips screws, not even the ones with an 7mm head on them for a socket, which would have made it much easier to remove without the tool slipping off. Make sure the one you remove is aligned properly, it should be in the recirc position when the vehicle is off. There is an alignment tool in the box you can put on a ratchet to move the door, but it's easier to just grab the white plastic end of the damper door by hand and move it if needed. Install is reverse of removal with slightly less cursing. No programming required, start the car and let it move through the recirc and fresh air positions, no more noise. It's worth noting there is a mode actuator and a temp actuator, both are this same part. One located on the drivers side of the center console by the pedals and one on the passenger side in same general area.

So far, so good! Have heat again.
My 17 JKUR suddenly had cold AC only. I figured it was this, and it was. The install of the part is not terrible, as long as you can get the air duct out of the way. Mine was a bit tough to break loose, but once out made things much easier. I also removed the one metal support bar under the steering wheel closest to the duct and also the little fan that's the air cabin temp sensor. I have large hands and this allowed me to more easily work through the hole available. It also let me more easily get my extensions and socket in to remove the bolts holding the mounting plate you have to remove. Before you button everything up test the unit and make sure the arm is clocked correctly, giving you the entire range of temps. Without the duct in the way you can easily see the arm moving and make sure it goes across the range. I had to move the arm a notch over to get it correct. My buddy didn't do this and now only has hot hot or cold cold, no in-between. Another note, I have a little electric screwdriver and it made the project so much easier at the actuator. You don't have much room so not having to turn a screwdriver was a huge plus.

Thank goodness for Dorman. I can actually afford to fix my car.
I appreciate that Dorman makes products for cars. They're usually a lot more affordable than the ones branded by the car manufacturers (in this case Chrysler). Given that the original failed after only a couple of years, Chrysler is apparently not above using cheap, plastic gears in their products. I would expect this Dorman to last at least as long, and hopefully longer. In any case, it's less than $20 bucks, and I was able to install it myself. There were no surprises, and it fit as the original did. 9 month update: My wife says that it's making that clicking sound again. It's intermittent at this point. I'll have to pull it out and take a look and see if the plastic gears have broken. It would be difficult to say bad things about Dorman though. It's Chrysler's bad design. Edit: I removed the Dorman actuator and popped it open. I don't see any broken gears, so I'll add a star back for now. Another Edit: I've been using the 2nd one for about 6 months and I'm starting to hear odd noises from behind the glovebox. I'm worried that it's going to fail again. These things seem to have a lifespan of about 8 months, give or take. I'm wondering if whatever is controlling this thing doesn't realize that the door is already shut and keeps trying to force it more shut, and then eventually the actuator breaks.

It’s QUIET now!!
The blend door actuator in my 2013 JKU gave out in the most problematic spot, behind the glove box. Installing the part was tedious to say the least. It took me about 3.5 hours from start to finish with a lot of scrapes on both hands and arms, but worth it considering I saved hundreds of dollars doing it myself. A few things: I highly recommend using a ratcheting compact bit driver for the screw in the back. I bought a set here on Amazon for 5 bucks that worked perfectly for the 7mm bit needed for the screws that are located at the front and back. There are Youtube videos that recommend one but I noticed that none of them are ratcheting. A ratcheting one will go a long way. Trust me, your fingers will thank you! You also won’t be able to install the part unless the connecting port is “turned” in the right spot. The alignment tool included in the box is useful in this aspect. You just stick it in the port and turn until the door lifts. Then you will be able to mount the part flush to screw it back in. Also, I know there are some who had to calibrate after install but, at least for my JKU, I did not have to. The part worked perfectly fine. I immediately tested the cabin air system that usually triggered the click, click, click. Nothing. Drove it around for a few minutes and absolutely quiet. Feels like a brand new car.

Fits but fails calibration
Bought to replace failing blend door actuator on 2015 Wrangler. There were no issues with fitment but once installed and using an OBD II scan tool to run calibration tests, it continually fails. To be sure I even swapped out a different actuator since I had the dash apart and the failure followed this actuator. As far as I can tell the actuator still works but every time I start the vehicle the HVAC system runs its own test (and fails) for 8-10 seconds because it hasn't passed calibration via scan tool. I decided to take this actuator out and return it in favor of an OEM replacement part despite them being more expensive.

Producto recomendable.

Works well
Bought this for a 2014 Dodge Journey. Easy to install with the right tools. Did the following to "calibrate" the actuator manually : 1) Connect the actuator to the power connector, and just let it hang loosely. Turn on the car. 2) Turn the heat all the way up on the climate control. This will trigger the actuator to go to "hot". 3) Manually figure out how the blend door arm needs to be do deliver hot air. 4) The climate control, the actuator and the air door are now set to "hot". Install the actuator to its place and tighten the 2 screws. 5) Play with the heat and verify the air is hotter or cooler. Turn the heat all the way down and verify the air is cool.
