a great beach chair upgrade! lightweight and comfortable!

As an avid beach goer and tanner I decided to splurge on this chair and it is amazing. I had breast surgery a few years ago and have difficulty laying on my stomach, and the pillow is perfect to move under your stomach to keep pressure off your chest (great for bigger chested ladies). The only issue I had was that the round clip thing that the strap connects to immediately broke. Luckily there is another handle on the arm rest so I just used that until I got other hooks to use. It’s very light and easy to open close

Let me start with the worst feature, it’s the one shoulder strap vs a backpack. Now the good news, this chair is the best I’ve ever used! I love the wooden handles & the comfy wooden arms! You may not have the best body on the beach, but you can have the best chair! Lol (side note: I got this chair because my friend has had this same chair for 2 seasons & loves it STILL!)

I love this chair!! It’s bigger than I expected and really comfortable with the lumbar support pillow. I love the color, head pillow and leg rest. I was worried about the bolts as some reviews show they rust easily. Mine were okay and I keep it in covered area. The only down side I noticed was it can be a little challenging lifting your legs to then lift the leg rest to put it down. Not a big complaint though. Two month update: so I have learned that you should not and cannot leave this out in the rain or outside on damp nights. The wooden arm handles don’t have a waterproof sealant on them so they can have mold grow on them easily and quickly. I used a white cloth dipped in bleach and wiped it away to kill the mold. Second note, the notches that the leg rest clicks into break easily. This is not a great material they use for these notches since they break while under pressure. So overall, I love the chair. But do I think it’s worth the price? NO. Do I think it could be better for the price? YES. Will I rebuy this? NO.

I don't often leave reviews, but this HORRIBLE chair made me furious. If I could give zero stars I would. This chair was purchased for a trip to the beach, and was VERY HIGHLY recommended by a trusted friend. I was extremely excited to have a nice chair that I assumed would last for years to come, as we go to the beach every year and have many other chairs that have lasted for well over a decade which were purchased for less than half the price of this Ostrich chair. We unfortunately, made the mistake of being prudent and purchased this chair **GASP** ahead of our vacation. The return policy on this chair is 90 days, so don't be like me, don't purchase this chair 100 days before your vacation. I was able to sit on this chair TWO TIMES. I am significantly under the listed weight threshold, and sat GENTLY in the chair, on soft sand. The second time I gently sat in this char, it felt like I was sinking into the sand... unfortunately that was the entire back metal piece folding in half and snapping off. I was FURIOUS to say the least, but I assumed since there's no way a $140 beach chair could be made this POORLY, maybe they have great and understanding customer service... nope. I attempted to get a refund for this chair that I successfully sat in ONCE.. and their response was essentially the following : "Thanks for telling us your chair broke and that you only sat on it twice, but we don't care because you bought it before your vacation.. if you want to buy another one and take a chance on it breaking again you can have a coupon" Needless to say I will never give this company my business again.

I purchased this Ostrich chair for use on the beach. It has pros and cons, but overall, I LOVE it. I'm 64, 5'3" and about 150 lbs. The pros are that this chair has arms, and it sits up higher than many reclining beach chairs. Thus, it's easy to get in and out of. I also love the cushion for the back of the head, and the lumbar cushion. The lumbar cushion is adjustable up and down so it can be postioned just right. The chair can adjust almost to a zero-gravity position, which is also great if you're prone to back issues. Finally, I like the cupholder and pouch. The cupholder holds a standard can or insulated cup securely. The pouch is great for phone, kleenex, sunglasses etc. I get quite a few compliments every time I use this chair. These are the cons: (1) The chair is not SO heavy that I can't carry it from the condo to the beach, but it IS heavier than other chairs I've owned. (2) It's also kinda big for the beach wagon, but it fits if arranged "just so". (3) It cannot be strapped to your back, (4) Once folded, there's a carry hole carved into one of the armrests. But if you carry it by gripping that hole, the chair doesn't stay folded and the little pouch drags the ground. We fixed this by securing the folded chair with bungee cords and tucking the pouch. In conclusion, my biggest requirements for a beach chair were comfort, back support, and ease of getting in and out of it. I didn't want a chair that was low to the ground. The Ostrich chair meets those requirements so for me, the Pros far outweigh the Cons.

I really wanted to be obsessed with this chair. On paper, it had everything I was looking for! However, it is rather cheaply made for how much I spent on it. It is very creaky, doesn't stay folded up easily and is only moderately co for table. I know each body is different, but for me, when it's fully laid down, where my legs lay is very uncomfortable and hurts my shins. The pillow for the back is also uncomfortable in it's placement. I do like how many options there are for sitting/laying....but I also feel like it's going to break at any point. I would not purchase again. This serves the purpose of why I bought it, but it is not as lavish as I expected due to the price. I don't believe you are paying for quality with this for the fact you're spending $120+ for a beach chair.

Seems solid but not heavy or bulky. Lies flat and can sit up with legs angled or straight out. A bit short as my last chair I could push into the foot rest which I liked this one your feet dangle off the end but it is still super comfortable and supports my back. Definitely recommend it.

Exactly what I needed for reading in the sun.

This chair feels solid and well made despite other comments to the contrary; plus it has loads of features which make it feel pretty luxe- a padded foot rest, holes for arms and face when laying on your front, cup holder and a nice carry strap. It’s a great option for those who wish to have the convenience of a folding/portable chair but the comfort and ability to tan while laying flat of a lounge chair. It functions very well as a reclining beach chair or flat out as a lounger as the back and foot rest both have multiple adjustment options from straight up and down to flat out. Overall, pretty worth the price...better than paying half and getting something with no quality at all.

Item is exactly as described, great quality, no issues so far. My original Ostrich chair lasted for 6 years, bought on eBay with customs fees paid! (balcony use and occasional picnics outdoors), was happy to find this on Amazon, very light to transport, good design, feels sturdy and durable.

Loved this chair but had to return - it was comfortable and a beautiful colour. The design is really cool and it was pretty functional, although very oversized width wise. The downfall of this chair is very clearly the dollar store plastic the bars connect with. I'm 130 lbs and the joints visibly bend when I sit gingerly. I only sat once in fear of it breaking before returning. This chair was too big for camping anyway. I can fit three other beach chairs in the same car space.
