We love the alilo pen; got it for my daughter about 1 year ago (age 3) and she enjoyed playing the games in the books that it came with and now that she's further along in her understanding of letters and sounds formations she enjoys using the cards. The storytelling feature is an added plus for card rides, especially as I keep a no-screen use in the car rule and little screen use at home. It's a wonderful tool to more mindfully engage their little brains without the excessive stimuli that is on tablets/apps/etc. I bought one for my niece and highly recommend. It's a great deal for the money as well. And fits nice in a small bag/backpack.

These books have every nursery rhyme known to man. Some I’ve never even heard before. The pen and whole system Is easy to use. It is even better than expected. There are more functions than even listed on the advertisement. You can take the pen anywhere and don’t even need the book or flash card for play. Because the buttons on the pen auto play stories, nursery rhymes, and lullabies!!!! SO many stories. Songs. And fun read along activities. It is insane how much memory is stored in this little pen. PLUS you can record your own message on each page. And record on each little separate sticker to make your own learning system for home. I am amazed! It’s worth every dollar. My son is autistic but loves to sing songs. Loves alphabet and counting. It is his perfect 4th birthday gift!!! You will not find another system so awesome as this one!!!! 😊

Now that my daughter's about to be 4, it's time for us to focus on her learning to read. I thought this little pen reader would be a great starter for her. In general, it's a good beginner product as the pen is large and she can easily manage it. But it's not as precise as if you saved your money and bought a version of this from a more established brand like VTech. This has some nice features, but it has a legit learning curve: Pros: 1. Multiple playing modes I like that there are options for you to record yourself, you can do a game play mode, and that there's a mode that simply reads/sings the song on the page 2. Comes with 3 books, flash cards and a piano page We still haven't gotten through all the songs and books. But I like that it comes with a wide variety of stories. I haven't opened up the flashcards yet either but I like that they come with hooks so you can keep them organized. 3. USB charging for the wand Especially since I hate having to hunt for batteries in our house, a toy that charges via USB is always preferable Cons: 1. Wand isn't precise or the pages aren't coded properly What I mean is, if you don't hold the wand over the exact prompt, it won't work. If you're in regular reading or singing mode, this means that the toy won't play the content. But if you're in game mode, if you don't hold the wand exactly over what it's telling you to find, it'll tell you that you're incorrect. Even as an adult with far more precise hand-eye coordination than my preschooler, I had trouble finding the correct spot at times during game play to get the correct answer for my daughter. Verdict: I like this as a good starter toy, but the lack of precision can cause frustration for little and big people. I'll definitely be upgrading my daughter's reading toy to a more legit brand.

Very fun for toddlers

I had this item for about 2 months. Now it is saying that there is no memory card. Hoping the seller can contact me to help me fix this issue. The company contacted me after this message and was working with me to fix the issue. Issued has been resolved. My son loves this pen and uses it everyday. So happy that we were able to fix the issue and my son can continue to use it.

The pen does not recite the words in real time, making is useless as a beginner reading tool. Stories are limited and boring. Expensive and useless.

This is a pretty neat toy and has already entertained both of my kids for hours! The colors are nice, and the pen has a very cute talking voice. I was very impressed with the overall sound quality of the songs and phrases. There are LOTS of activities to do with this toy, such as 3 books which kids can hear the pen read, sing, play games with, or be asked questions about. There are also 2 packs of flash cards which the pen will pronounce the words for, and there’s a piano piece that plays songs and musical instrument sounds, and also flips over to say alphabet letters. The toy also comes with tons of “recording stickers” where you can record your own voice and then play it back by holding the pen over the same sticker. The pen itself also has additional songs and stories it will play. Some things I think could be improved though, are that the recording stickers can be kind of glitchy and difficult fo figure out, and the pen told me my answer was wrong on one of the questions it asked, when it definitely wasn’t. I wish the pen would react to my holding the pen over the codes on the flash cards a little faster too. I try to limit my kids’ screen time, and this toy is the perfect alternative to handing them an iPad or handheld video game. I love that it’s educational too! It’s pretty expensive, and I don’t know that I would normally pay that much for this, but if money is no issue, it’s a great toy!

I purchased this device for my daughter a week ago and this is one of the best purchase I’ve done! Very cute design, nicely packaged and easy to use! My daughter could use it independently. The set contains a bundle of nursery rhymes, respectable numbers of flash cards (which very helpful for phonic learning/practicing), plus a piano card (large) on one side and alphabet on the opposite side, which my daughter absolutely adore the most, as she also use it as karaoke to sing along, with the extra recording function. She would spend hours to play with the device without demands on watching tv/tablet! One happy mum!

this is a set of education toys featuring a talking pen, 3 interactive story books, 100 flash cards as well as a big double sided piano and alphabet card for sure the main item in the set is the talking pen, it’s cute, rechargeable, and actually there are already loads of built in nursery rhymes with it, so it could actually be used alone the pen could also be used with all books, flash cards and the big piano card, this is the selling point of this set right? first of all, there are 100 flash cards in 9 categories, they’re double sided, one side is a picture and the other side is a real photo of the item, it helps kids to relate picture with actual look of the item, for some pictures like animal, vehicle, place, tap on the picture the pen will play actual sound instead of pronouncing the word, i’m so appreciated that binding rings are included so the cards will always stay together and not easy to lost day by day the 3 interactive books are amazing, there are around 45 stories in total, and each story contains a nursery rhyme, reading, game as well as parent tips on how to interact with kids, and kids could use the record play function to sing and record the song with their own voice, the pen will tell the story or say the sound when tapping on any picture or word in the story lastly, the giant piano card is fun to play, there are many song, instruments sound on one side, and the other side contains a-z letters for pronunciation and phonics, sample word start for that letter, but i found that the pronunciation is in american english instead of british english, although it’s very common in education toys but i’m a bit disappointed honestly anyway, this product exceeded my expectations and i’m very satisfied with it, would recommend hope you find these information helpful

I think this is brilliant, it is perfect for our 2 year old as she starts to learn words, it's a lot of fun exploring, it all looks simple but there's a lot of clever technology and thought gone into it. In the box you get the pen itself three activity books, some recording stickers, a piano paper and lots of picture cards. There is a lot in the box. My only concern about the whole thing is the price £86.99, as of April 2022, is a lot of money to pay, I can't deny this is a great set though. The star of the show and linchpin of everything is the cute little pen with volume controls, recording button, on/off switch and USB charging and data sync port. I love the fact is has an in built battery that can be charged and you don't have to keep feeding it batteries. The speaker is loud and clear with no distortion, it's a very very good quality speaker for such a small device. Our daughter loves it because it's cute. The picture cards are great, you get a lot of them with 4 little rings to keep them together, the holes are already punched to put the rings in. They are double sided and you simple place the pen on the picture and it makes a noise or on the writing underneath and it says the word, simple but really good. The recording stickers enable you to record something into them and then touch the sticker to play it back, again good fun but for me the weakest part of the package. The piano is a lot of fun, you touch the keys for a noise or the instruments around the side, it would just have been better if it was on thicker paper or maybe card. The three books, labelled 1, 2 and 3 enable you on each nursery rhyme in the book to record your own voice and play it back, this is located on the left of each page. On the right are three icons, the first plays a short version of the nursery rhyme with music, the second speaks the full lyrics, the third plays games (such as find the number 5 in the picture) and the last one gives tips on parents and child interaction. You also get a charging USB cable but no plug. This is expensive but if you don't mind the cost it's a great set to spend time with your child, it works well, the speaker in the pen is excellent and there are many hours of fun here to explore together. It's well thought out, bright and appealing.

Can be rechargeable via USB Type-C which i like it as i dont need to buy any batteries lol!
