Easy to install AFTER I got the old one off the chair. I spent hours trying to twist off the old one, viewed several online instructions before I found one that simply said to hit it with a hammer. I did, the chair wheel base came off, and installing the new gas cylinder was easy. This saved me over a hundred dollars from buying a new chair! Just measure the old cylinder first to be sure they are about the same length. The diameter is pretty standard.

It was exactly as I ordered, but I could not replace the one I had. Make sure yours will come off before ordering a new one.

Just sinks down to bottom right away.Will not raise unless you help it along by lifting chair with it. Then it sinks as soon as you sit in it.Horrible product.Wasted my money and bought 2 :(

Excellent, cost effective replacement for a Herman Miller Aeron chair. My mom's chair was periodically dropping, so she actually considered just purchasing a brand new chair. I found this economical option on Amazon and decided to give it a try. The most challenging part of the install process was removing the old cylinder. We needed to use a hammer and eventually a hack saw to complete the removal. Once the older one was out, the new one just slid into place. She has been using her chair daily with the new lift, and the chair operates like it did when it was new - no issues.

it worked for a few days but is now un-adjustable. Thankfully, even at its lowest setting, it is tall enough for what I need.

Easy to install and works great. Was glad to find this item, as the chair was still in great shape other than leaking down.
