This tool makes leveling fence posts and pipe incredibly easy. I use it while building fences on my farm, and it saves me time and frustration every single time. The bright orange color makes it easy to find, and the strap holds it firmly in place on both round and square posts. The bubble levels are accurate, and the hands-free design means I can set posts solo without constantly checking with a handheld level. For under $10, this is one of the most useful tools in my kit. If you're working on fencing, decks, or any vertical posts — this tool is a no-brainer. Highly recommended!

Great post leveler. Easy to use and bubble levels are large and easy to see. Rubber band that comes with is high durability. We fenced in an entire acre while using this during the hottest part of the summer last year. Works well with a high amount of accuracy. Large design of the product made it much easier to use than other options even for those that were wearing gloves. Allowed to get the alignment of the poles quickly and easily.

It does the job for sure, and is a perfect fit for a 4x4 post. It saves a lot of time vs clamping 2 separate levels on a post. The reason for 4 stars is because the product itself seems a little flimsy, like I have to be careful using it or it might break. But like I said, it did what we needed it to do at a low cost!

Is as described and worked great leveling out deck posts. Only thing is the rubber band that comes with it does not last for long at all. Other than that it worked for it's intended purposes.

Johnson levels are the best. This one is well thought out. It has BIG highly visible vials, unlike some of the post levels I've got in the toolkit. The only negative thing I could say about this great post level is that the rubber band will wear out. There is no accurate way to put up a post without one of these post levels. Well, you can, but it is pretty fiddly and takes a bunch of extra hands ;-> (My Dad could do it, but he was brilliant and he could do anything ;-> He was my Dad.) The pros are: BRIGHT orange! If it is laying on the ground, you will see it, so will be less likely to step on it. It might break if a bit boot comes down on it, but it seems very rugged. More rugged than some of the others I've got. I love that it is so visible. Not likely to be left behind at a jobsite. You WILL see it. The vials are yellow and there is a white 'backing plate' for extra visibility. If you leave it out in the sun, they are likely to bleach out, but they will still work just fine with that white plate. Some I have that are bleached (yeah, I learned the hard way) don't have a backing plate so it is tough to see against the dark post. That's why I ordered this. Another neat thing about it is they don't have just 'hooks' that are fiddly to get to, to fasten the rubber band. One side is secured, so the band won't fall off the other side has a stick-out prong so the band slips right on. Big improvement over some of the levels out there. Here's something I learned from reading reviews on post levels: Instead of the rubber band - they decompose pretty quickly so you need to carry extras - you can use some layout line and tie a spring to the end, tie off one end and the spring will go right over the prong.. Same effect, won't wear out. Clever, eh? I'm going to replace all my post levels with these ;->

It's hard to have a complaint about this little tool. It works perfectly on posts (mailbox, fence, deck, etc). The only thing for me, is I got more utility out of my torpedo level setting my mailbox post in concrete. I thought it would be easier to use the Post Level, but it was more challenging to see than the torpedo level. However, I used them both to good effect and my post is perpendicular as hell to the earth's crust. And I love looking at it when I back out of my driveway every day. My mailbox post is one of the few in my neighborhood that is actually perpendicular to the street. So there's that.

I picked up the Johnson 175‑O Post Level, and honestly, it surprised me how useful it was. I used it to set a 4x4 post in the ground, and it made the whole job way easier. The level wraps around the post and gives you readings on multiple sides at once, so getting everything perfectly plumb was simple. No juggling multiple levels or guessing — just set it, adjust, and you’re done. For a small, inexpensive tool, it really delivers.

Excellent piece of kit for standing fence posts. Job done in half the time.

We relied on this post level to build a large fence using 60 12-foot 6x6" posts over the last couple months. It made centering the posts easy once the holes were dug. Easy to use, easy to read. Great quality.

Super handy when we were installing my new fence. However, the strap that comes with it is completely useless as it's too short to even go around a 4" post. That means you'll need one person to hold the level on and the post straight while the other person backfills the hole. So a longer, adjustable strap would make it much easier for us DIY types. Other than that, no complaints.
