Perfect, way better than I expected given the price
Perfect for the job. I'm impressed with the construction considering this is one of the cheaper models. The description says beech hardwood, which makes sense because it is hard! This thing would double as a billy club and do some real damage in a pinch. Down to brass tacks, here is what we did to break in two gloves in short order: 1) heat a pot of water to 150F 2) pour over the glove outside and in to get the leather wet and hot 3) beat the piss out of the pocket and "seam" (where the glove closes) inside and outside. Be sure to be careful around any plastic since most gloves have a Velcro clasp 4) while wet, use the opportunity to stretch the lacing connecting the fingers 5) while wet, loosen up the bottom of the glove by holding it upside down and rolling the opening back and forth 6) while wet, shape the glove how you like it. I like mine a little more flared open so I bend the fingers a little bit out. Some like theirs with a tighter cup 7) continue to beat the heck out of the pocket 8) play catch. We did this whole still damp, and put the glove over the AC vent when not in use to speed drying. This wet and dry probably isn't great for the leather, but oh well 9) repeat. We did the process twice, and it definitely helped to do it a second time

good mallet
baseball sized topper. worked 3 gloves with it without issue. I took the strap off to open up the fingers. Its a little too big for that but seemed to work well.

Perfect for breaking baseball glove in FAST
I bought this because I saw a video of a guy that breaks in gloves for MLB players. If you proud hot water on the glove and beat the stew out of the glove with this thing and the wooden mallet (which I also bought from Amazon) it breaks a brand new glove it FAST. Buy it and break your glove in!

Simple as a hammer
Well, it's as simple as a hammer. No frills just goodness. Works well to help brake in of the ball glove and placement of pocket. Will last a lifetime unless you have a Lab.

Get something bigger
Too light and too small, handle is very smooth paired with a small diameter. I wish I would have picked something more significant.

We are a huge baseball family and having to break in a new glove isn’t easy. This made the job so much easier
