BDR-3SR-CO Acro Ink Ballpoint Pen, Acro Drive Fine Point, Copper Color Body

I was a bit hesitant ordering the Acro Drive ballpoint pen, but after owning it for a week, I am very happy with it. It is very solidly built, the twist mechanism works flawlessly, and the whole thing just oozes quality. I wasn’t sure I’d like how the pen gets a bit wider at the grip, but it turns out that it works well for me. One negative is that the pen takes a fairly expensive Acro BRFN-30 metal refill. But the good news is that the plastic Dr. Grip Center of Gravity refill also fits, uses the same great Pilot Acro ink, and costs far less. Overall highly recommended. Specs: length 135mm (5.3 inches), widest part of grip 10.9mm, weight 28.4 grams (1.0 ounce). Update: I just picked up the Pearl White version of this pen, and it is outstanding. The gold tone accents look great on this pen.

Arrived in mint condition. Has great weight and writes decently. Great gift giving option.

Item function is fine but body color delivered is not what I ordered. I ordered Copper and received a light gray body. Amended. Ordered a second, the copper is not a strong copper color so comes across as a more light gray. Again function is good, the Acroball ink is very smooth.

The pen is nicely weighted, the refill is easy found as regular pilot ballpen.

This Pilot "Drive" is a solid metal pen with a good balance in the hand. Be aware it uses a very specific refill cartridge of the excellent Acro ink. It has a professional appearance, with typically attractive Pilot design and durability. I got it in Pearl White. The finish on the body reminds me of the "pearl white" look of automobile paint - looks and feels that durable, with subtle shine. (Maybe why it's called "Drive?") My fingers can grip the finish without sliding off as with some other metal pens. Would recommend for any who love the Acroball pen but want a weightier body and less casual appearance. Again, it doesn't take standard Acroball refills, but I easily found the right ones, also on Amazon.

I'm really happy I read reviews and ordered this rather expensive ballpoint. But, as I wrote, if you misplace it, you'll be sorry. Just keep it safe. It's worth it.

Love the feel of this pen. The ink cartridge is horrible....ink blobs at each stroke. Hope to find a refill from another company. BRFN-30-F is the refill.

I got mine from Japan, but I've had my own over a year now. It's great - writes smoothly and is lightweight. Refills are roughly $5, which isn't ideal, but a year later I'm not even completely out. Great pen and looks professional.
