amazing book for kids, very well explained

Good for beginners

The Pros: 1. More detailed explanations without jargon/ abbreviations which makes it easy for the child to refer 2. Thoughtful layout using colours, pictures and larger font makes it attractive to the young user The Con 1. Its basic. Found it missing a number of words from my 8 year old's Lit textbook Overall Good start if you are seeking to instill the dictionary habit as children may find the traditional dictionaries too drab or even difficult.

Doesn't serve the purpose at all,not a pocket dictionary,it's bulky and the words are not at all helpful

I needed a child's dictionary with British spellings for preparing children for the British school system, and this is it. The definitions are easy to understand even for a young ESL student. The pictures, while obviously there isn't one for every definition, are very helpful. For example, my student recently looked up "trumpet", saw the picture and immediately recognized what it was. They have added the alphabet in little, different colored blocks along the side of each page and color coded the tab for each letter to match, making it easier for a child to find the correct area of the dictionary more quickly. What more can I say? British spellings, pictures, easily intelligible definitions, a good sized book, quality paper, and ease of use. Just perfect!

mi aspettavo qualcosa con più illustrazione per i più piccoli ma purtroppo e molto da scuola media inferiore. cmq fatto bene :D

Great British dictionary for children

Definitely would recommend this dictionary! My daughter loves it and her teacher said that she made an excellent choice

A good dictionary for my first grade son. Great selection of words but font size is a bit small.
