As described…
Worked great for tapping into a 2006 cummins manifold and installing my pyrometer. Need I say more?

Excellent tap
While being the lowest price 1/8-27 tap on Amazon, it's also better than many of the much more expensive ones because it's made of High Speed Steel instead of "carbon steel". High speed steel has much better resistance to heat and wear as well as being much harder than carbon steel, resulting in a tap that will cut cleaner, more consistent threads, for much longer. Taps need to be incredibly hard, much more so than most tools, and HSS in my opinion is the bare minimum when it comes to materials for taps. If you have the money, cobalt (m35, m42, etc) taps are a big step up

Effective for hand tapping
I used this for a simple repair on an electric lamp. It worked like a charm.

It worked well to tap a larger steel pipe plug.
I have a 20 year old craftsman tap and die set, USA made from carbon steel. I thought I would have to shorten the tap, but didn't want to mess up the one out of my expensive set. This hss tap cuts far easier than the carbon steel taps. Back then, I figured the cman set would be fine for occasional tapping needs and it had all of the sizes but it has been a let down. For the sizes I use most often, I have purchased noresman/viking taps, but it takes a while to get those. This was available quickly and got the oddball job done.

Life Saver
Attached it to my drill and it saved me $2,000 having to buy new air struts since mine were stripped.. Very durable too I dropped it twice on concrete and threads had no visible damage.
