This is certainly the lightest weight fiberglass cloth I have ever used, but I'm a total novice at laying glass. Slightly heavier would have been better in my instance, but that is more my fault than the cloth. It had a silk like shine and seemed somewhat resistant to soaking the resin, but again, I'm not sure what I should have expected, but it did the job that I required and it's not a matter of life or death, more of an art/science project and I think it turned out better than my first attempt, good enough so I won't be making a 3rd attempt.

Very light hard to work with, it almost dissolved in epoxy

Overall I'm very satisfied with this product , my only criticism is that it has a finished edge that won't wet out. Not a big deal but a little annoying when it peels up and you have to sand it out and apply more epoxy over it. I would suggest trimming this edge before using the material otherwise this is a good product.

While this mat did prevent any live coals from burning the surface beneath it, it did not insulate the surface from heat burns and the carpet surface beneath it, which was under a wood burning tent stove, did melt, and the tent floor under the carpet melted through, and the Tyvek drop cloth under the tent floor also melted through. I now use firebricks under the stove with much better success for insulating properties.

Is what it says it is. Arrived ahead of schedule and at a great price.
