Soft wood and felt. Nice design -- easy to assemble. Not heavy duty, but this sits inside a gun safe so it doesn't need to be. It does the job.

As other reviewers have said, you get what you paid for. CONS: 1. It is made from a laminated material and cheaply resembles real solid wood. 2. The carpeted material is a very thin material thinner than regular felt. 3. It is very light weight. This is an inexpensive rack that works fine. It appears to be light weight and flimsy but when you add 6 hand guns, it’s pretty heavy and stable. If the carpeted material wears out, it can be recovered very easily and inexpensively with a better quality thicker felt. It works with a wide variety size of hand guns. The pistols pictured from left to right are M&P bodyguard .380, Taurus TX22, Ruger SR22, Taurus 607 Poly .357 Mag , M&P 2.0 10mm, & Ruger SR9C All in all, I am very satisfied with my purchase. It’s very roomy and holds my guns securely. If you are looking for a high quality well-polished display rack this is not for you.

This is the second gun rack that I bought on Amazon. The first I returned because it was held together by sticky tape and very cheap. This one is very inexpensive and held together with screws,very sturdy and looks good too. So I bought a second one and glad I did. I do wish the base was a little deeper because it doesn’t quite work for large revolvers but for semi automatics it is perfect!!!

I think I was generous with three stars and it's barely okay. The first thing I noticed was the wood was the lightest wood I have ever held. I was extremely careful when screwing in the screws and stopped when I felt the first felt resistance. There was very little tightening down. The shelves for the guns is covered with a material similar to the lining in my safe, so I found this aesthetically pleasing. I also like that there is room under the shelf for loose handgun magazines. However, handgun magazines will not likely fit if they are in some type of magazine holder/pouch. I was shocked that the price for this product was so low, but then understood when I received it. I don't regret buying it since it was so inexpensive, but I wouldn't buy it again. I will likely replace it in the near future with something more substantial.
