Kenmore 350 Water Softener System – 32,000 Grain Capacity Whole House Hard Water & Iron Reduction – Compact, Easy to Install, Salt Saving Technology

Bought the Kenmore 350 to replace an Aquasure Harmony water softener which was annoyingly loud and did not perform as expected. I saw there have been some mixed reviews, but mostly because of shipping. Shipping: This came with Prime 2 day shipping and was delivered by two Amazon employees. They took good care handling the box to ensure the safety of the contents. Packaging: The water softener was packaged very well. The bottom was double protected with cardboard and foam. The top was covered in plastic bag, and foam packaged around the softener for stability during shipping. Installation: Installation was pretty straight forward. You do have to scan a QR code to get the manual, or you can go online and view the PDF. We will call it eco-friendly reading. The directions online in the PDF are easy to follow, and include diagrams. Design and Build Quality: The Kenmore 350 water softener is the same design as the newer Whirlpool water softeners. Whirlpool manufactures the Kenmore brand, so build quality is held at the top of Whirlpool standards we all have grown to love. The brine well and tank are an all-in-one design... space saving. I saw no signs of blemishes, cracks, or defects, and it includes a tank light for low lit areas. Water softness quality: After the installation and initial sanitizing regeneration, the water is very soft. I included a picture of the before and after test strips. It reads Zero gpg after installation which is perfect! Operating the softener: Press and hold the regeneration for approx 2 seconds to start an immediate regeneration. The regenerating process takes about 2 hours to complete and is near silent. When compared to the Aquasure Harmony, which uses between 60-80 gallons of water per regeneration, the Kenmore 350 uses about 30 gallons total. The default regeneration time is factory set to 2:00 AM, which I am sure most of us have not changed. Bottom line: You can't go wrong with the Kenmore 350 water softener. Kenmore's Trusted Performance is still top notch!

We got this model as a direct fit plug and play unit to replace a nearly 20 year old similar model. This units plumbing fittings at the rear were about 3/16ths inch lower that the model we had installed. It was hard copper pipe and I did not want to redo the pipe. Luckily I had a spare piece of ceramic floor tile in the shop. I placed the tile on top the softeners previous platform and put the new softener in place. A perfect fit. The softener with its basic settings lowered our hard water from 125ppm to about 20ppm. Works and looks great

Replaced my older kenmore with this and couldn’t be happier, I use eco mode and cut salt use significantly. It basically runs and I don’t do much except check salt levels every now and then. I installed myself and Lowe’s has everything to make job pretty simple

I am very upset about this product we ordered this for my mother who is in her seventies and she has had nothing but trouble with it it keeps forming a bridge we got to go over there all the time and put hot water over it to break up the bridge and you call to have someone come fix it and they won't come out and do that it only covers parts and then you call another water softener place and they won't work on Kenmore water softeners why is that so my mother stuck with this water softener that just does not work properly we only bought it in September and she's have nothing but trouble with it and we tried calling your company and you do nothing

Should you previously have had a craftsman 350 such as I did? You will find it very easy to connect for the installation. At this point, it seems to be doing the job very well and I’m looking forward to many years of its service.

This was an easy replacement for my 2008 series 300. The bypass valve is slightly different on the new one so I continue to use the old one to minimize re-piping. The new recharging system uses a longer brine fill and brine empty cycle than before but so far so good. Many of the wear parts are the same as the older unit - O-rings, valve disc, valve housing so repairs, if needed, will be as before. The display board has been updated to provide for more options however does not appear to be improved to protect against saltwater fume corrosion -- one of the reasons I needed to replace my older unit. The rectangular exterior shape has a slightly different footprint and lid opening is a bit smaller for adding salt but not a big deal. I have been using a similar design Kenmore water softener for over 40 years and will expect this new design to provide a similar service life and good quality softened water.
