Scotch Removable Mounting Squares, Grey, 1 in. x 1 in., Holds up to 1lb., 16-Squares

I have used these Removable for hundreds of pictures, and they work great! After holding pictures to the wall for years they remove easily and without damaging the wall. I used them to mount a plaque to the wall, and it was too heavy and fell off. The soluiton? Simply use 8 instead of four, and the plaque is secure. Amazon's price is good. Cheaper than Michael's when you buy quantity.

i'm hanging pictures ranging in size from 8x12 to 20x30 and these things work perfectly. my pictures are mounted on foam core so are very light and for all but the 20x30 pics, 2 of these is sufficient. they leave no marks on my walls even after months of being attached. i know because i've rearranged and moved my pictures several times. really great product that fit my needs exactly. it's only rated to 1lb though and that seems reasonable to me - they're not going to be able to handle a frame with glass.

But I do find the squares so useful I bring some everywhere traveling - to help charging adapters stay plugged into loose outlets in hotel rooms or to cover the door peep hole or hack a sudden minor wardrobe malfunction (for a little while). Or, just wait until some weird or mundane situation arises when one or more of these can hold things together quite temporarily, but just long enough. Adhesion can be tricky on some surfaces; usually removal is very easy; these aren't thick and come in a useful size, and I can even cut a square into smaller pieces; the appearance is subtle, but can be camouflaged (but I usually don't); the value for the cost is high IMO; and it's easy to pack a package in a thin gap in my carry-on.

What I needed to do was stick a gadget with antennas on it (wifi network thing) to the back of my computer desk which is solid wood. I didn't want to drill holes, or attempt to run screws in. (It's hard wood. Not going to be easy. And the mark would be permanent.) And it needed to solid because this desk is on wheels and gets shifted frequently to do things on the back, or be moved to a different part of the room. Like closer to the window. Or whatever is best right now. And my cat sometimes walks across the desk, and she knocks things off if they are either loose or light. My housemate and I discussed options. It's his wifi gadget, and my desk, and neither of us wanted to mess up the desk. Then I remembered college. We had cement block walls in the dorm, and my room mate and I wanted to decorate the room so it wasn't so stark (or so beige). And came up with some burlap (blue) decorative window edgings. Which we stuck up with sticky squares. Enough squares, and even heavy burlap curtains stick to painted cement walls. (It took a lot of them.) Remembering that, I bought these. I read the directions, decided that the wifi thingie weighed maybe a half pound, factored in that this was NOT a wall that was absolutely flat NOR was it going to be sitting still in one place AND it was sometimes going to be where it'd be bumped into by either humans or the cat. I put on enough sticky squares for 2 lbs figuring that overkill might be necessary as I really don't want this thing dropped. (Expensive, and fragile.) It's been a month or so that it's been glued to the desk and it hasn't shifted even the slightest. These worked just perfectly for what I needed.

I’m not sure what other people use this for, but I was trying to stick a small 1’ x 1’ dry erase board onto my wall. I used maybe five stickers and it would still fall off after a few hours. The board is only about a pound or two. These could be good for other uses (I used one to cover a hole in my wall from where a hook used to be screwed in but always fell out since the hole was so big. I stuck the hook through the sticker and it didn’t fall out anymore), but I wouldn’t recommend these for photo frames or anything heavier than a calendar.

These are the best at hanging my photos! To clarify, I laminate my photos to protect them and use these to post them on my walls. Easy to put up and remove, they simplify the seasonal decor for my home.

They work well and hold for a long time

As of this writing, the picture of the Scotch Removable Mounting Squares shows that they're capable of holding up to 2 pounds. It's clearly displayed in the upper right hand corner of the box on the Amazon listing. When I received them, while everything else looked the same, the print in the upper right displayed that they only hold up to 1 pound, not 2. That's quite a difference. At any rate, since the lightweight poster board photograph that I wanted to hang on my wall weighed a mere 8 ounces, I expected no problem using these mounting squares. I was wrong. Within a matter of days, the picture fell off of the wall and was damaged. In addition, when I removed the squares from the wall, they left behind some of the gooey adhesive, making them 100% useless for the purpose intended. The bottom line is that this is a lousy product. Even though I received a different one that was pictured in the listing, it should have been capable of holding up an 8 ounce picture. Leaving adhesive on my walls was just adding insult to injury.

Pretty good. What I love is it's easy to cut and adjust to wherever you need.
