Great closet for the cost and purpose
This wardrobe storage unit has been a perfect solution for organizing my clothes and keeping them off the floor, which was exactly what many people here probably need. The price is reasonable considering the functionality you get, people may wish it could be a bit less expensive - but this is pretty good comparatively. Keep in mind, that this is not a solid pine, $3,000 piece of furniture—it’s sturdy and practical, but made from manufactured materials. You shouldn’t expect the look or feel of genuine wood grain. Overall, I’m very satisfied with this purchase and feel it’s a much better choice than cheaper, flimsier options. I suggest- thank me later - purchasing battery-powered, motion-sensor, stick-on lights. Trust me—these lights make a big difference.

Easy to put together but slightly hard to do it right
It went together easy enough and I didn't have to do too much extra work to align the doors. The top drawer came out crooked but tightening the screws holding the rails to the structure helped mostly straighten it out. Also, the handles were really hard to install the screws and one of them sheared off in the handle. I'm guessing the handles are low quality as the screws look fine. If you have the tools, you should retap the holes in the handles before installing. I'll likely replace them anyway so it's not a big deal for me. Once it was mounted to the walls, it felt really sturdy. I was a little concerned over some of the reviews about build quality but other reviews made it seem like many people just weren't following directions. Notes on assembly: I used an electric drill with the torque set low so that I didn't strip the holes as some of the wood is low quality. The structural pieces are good MDF so it should last for some time. I mounted the cabinet to the walls and caulked the edges. If your floor isn't 100% even, the cabinet will lean and cause the doors to be crooked. I used wood shims to even it out before screwing it to the walls and then caulked around the bottom to hide the shims. If you mount the cabinet like me in a corner, you'll have to cut out any baseboard behind as well as possibly trim off a corner of the bottom drawer. I skipped using the anti-tip strap and just put a screw through the rear top board on the inside into a stud. I put another screw through the side top board into another stud. If the drawers make a lot of noise and feel like they are hitting something, tighten the screws on the rails as they are likely sticking out a little. Make sure you use the right holes for the rails as it will make the drawers very crooked if you use the wrong ones. I didn't use the hanger rail since I plan on adding some other kind of shelves to that section.

It was okay while it lasted
Update: I called the Sauder company for a warranty claim. I didn't have high expectations. But it was very easy. I explained that I would like a new door shipped to me & the lady gathered my info & is shipping one out to me right away. They provided excellent hassle free customer service. It a fairly plain cabinet but it did it's job. We use it as a "coat closet" in our living room, right by the entrance to the house. We have no closets etc (123 year old house) so we put our bags, most frequently worn shoes, coats, etc in here for 2 adults, 1 child. But 9 months after purchase and one of the doors (the one above the drawers) fell apart at the seams. All of the them. Now this door comes pre-assembled. So it wasn't that we assembled it poorly. It comes preassembled and we only had to screw the hinges on & attach it to the cabinet. Well, it fell apart. We used wood glue on the seams and the wooden pegs to put it back together but that only lasted about a month and it fell apart again. Wish I had bought the insurance, but I didn't.

Even a professional can't help this thing.
I want to start this review out by saying that this is probably the 6th or 7th piece of Sauder furniture I have purchased. I was hesitant to believe the negative reviews because every other piece of Sauder furniture I have purchased has been beautiful, strong, and durable. I also didn't believe the negative reviews because I have found that quite often they are left by people who found themselves overwhelmed during the assembly of products like this. My husband tears down and rebuilds perfectly balanced multi-million dollar machines for a living. SO assembly was no problem for us either. After reading the reviews I gave him a warning to be very exact and watch for certain things that were mentioned. He took his time and worked very precisely with all of the appropriate tools. I should have seen it coming right out of the gate when we picked one of the long panels up and it bowed in the middle terribly, but we continued on, hoping that stability would come with more weight and pieces. -I couldn't have been more wrong. The finished product is terrible. Sure it is a nice design and roomy but the top drawer rubs the door above it, the two drawers have to be constantly adjusted to work right and the whole thing looks as if it will fall apart with just a few light things in it. I would love to just re-adjust a few things to fix it but the wood is SO thin that there is very little room for adjustment. A shelf was broken right out of the box, and upon calling the company and voiceing my concern, I was told "all of our furniture is built the same, I'm not sure why you are having a problem with this piece." So basically I am out $250+ stuck with something that is falling apart and if it weren't so much trouble I would pull this thing apart and send it back to Amazon. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE don't waste your time or money! I am beyond dissapointed in the Sauder Company. I looked to them for inexpensive furniture for many years. I will not make that mistake again. Update! 3/15/23 It didn't last long. We burned it 6 months ago because there was no help for it. Never buying Sauder again. They don't stick by their products.

not the best quality for your money
The item arrived damaged on corners. The quality of the material is poor. Some pieces are not flat (deformed). There is no extra parts for assembly (zero), while one of the screws came damaged and I had to look for a replacement. I received another piece of furniture from another company, and the difference in quality is huge. This piece of furniture is significantly overpriced for what it's offering

Exactly as expected.
I was concerned after reading the reviews about how much trouble people had putting this unit together, but ours went together with only 1 slight hitch. The holes for the handle on one door were just slightly too far apart, but that was easily remedied by angling the screw a bit with the screwdriver so it would go into the hole on the handle. The assembly was simple but not easy. We carefully followed all the instructions and read each step through before attempting it. I read the instructions to my husband, and he did all the work :). He also read them over, primarily to reference the images for clarification (at least that's what he told me - I'm sure it wasn't because he didn't trust me to read them in an understandable manner). It did take us the 3 hours that other reviewers mention. It's true that hubby has put together lots and lots of this type of furniture, but we thought the instructions were pretty good compared to others we've done. When completed, the unit looks like the picture - the doors (after adjusting according to the instructions) line up, the drawers line up, and it looks great. As for sturdiness - the unit doesn't wobble, and we pushed it around the floor to get it in place without any problem. I know it's particle board and I bought it anyway because it will fit our need. For the price, this was a great purchase for us and I am confident it will perform as we need it to do.

Mostly good, overpriced though.
Mostly good, some not so fantastic points though. I got this for a “broom closet” solution and found a damaged box through Amazon warehouse so it was only $185. For that price, it’s worth it. Had I paid full price though (which was almost $300 when I bought mine), I think I’d be disappointed. It functions really well, has ample storage and solves the lack of closet problem we had (we did have to leave out the shelf in order to fit the broom and vacuum)... the doors are thin and rather flimsy, though. The top isn’t finished at all, which isn’t a huge deal except it seems for that price point, it should be. We can see the top because it’s next to the knee wall on our stairs to the second floor, so it’s just something to note if you’d also see the top. (We plan to put a top on it like a wood counter or something). All in all it’s decent but it should cost less than $200, imo. Check the warehouse before you pay full price ;)

You Get What You Pay For!
We needed this cabinet for our upstairs hallway. We had high hopes that the quality of the cabinet would be as good as the quality of the vanity we purchased and put together a few weeks ago, but it wasn't even close! 1) For starters, one of the doors was damaged in transit. 2) Then we noticed that the shelves on the right side of the unit are not notched for the trim. The shelves cannot sit flush against the inside of the cabvinet. 3) The quality of the materials is poor. 4) The directions were even worse. There is not much written - they are mostly pictures, which would have been fine, except that some of them were very hard to make sense of. They are numbered steps, and they do not have you attach the outside of the cabinet to the shelves, which are attached to the center divider. They actually have you turn the unit over with partially attached shelves - and that is how the shelves get totally messed up! That should NEVER have happened!! 5) One of the "hardware" pieces that holds the rod was broken in two (we used it anyway since we aren't going to put a lot of weight on the rod). 6) The bottom pieces for the 2 drawers is very flimsy. We certainly won't be able to put much weight in either drawer! When you take into consideration the quality, the horrible directions, and the damaged pieces, this is NOT a cabinet you should purchase. For now, we will keep it, but we'll probably end up having a carpenter build a unit into that space and get rid of this mess. Buyer BEWARE!!

Pleasant surprise
I had the experience of another Sauder cabinet earlier and was not impressed so I did not expect much from this one. I was wrong. I mentioned that the earlier product was a poorer value than IKEA; this one offers better value for a change. The structure of the cabinet is somehow unusual: the load bearing consists of a solid plank in the middle (separating the two main compartments) plus a number of slats that constitute an external frame. You can see the slats in the photos; they are not there just for the show, they constitute the actual load bearing frame. The cabinet is then closed using thin panels made of some engineered wood. Incidentally speaking the back is make of the same kind of a panel, which is very nice given that the products in this price range usually have cardboard backs. The end result looks quite nice and is reasonably sturdy while also being lighter than the competition (not sure how much this matters though, as cabinets are rarely moved around). All the horizontal surfaces can hold a reasonable load. The compartments are well thought out. Assembly is rather tedious but pretty straightforward (with one exception). The horror, I used a power drill (like I always do for assembling this kind of things), otherwise I would have grown old during the process. I know what I am doing (and I never had any problems), but I do not necessarily recommend power tools for people having less experience and/or a heavier hand on the trigger since things can go wrong really fast if not careful. I mentioned an exception to the straightforward assembly and that exception is the drawers. One needs extra caution to square them properly; the guides provided on the parts are not enough for the purpose. I am guessing that people complaining about the drawers not aligning properly followed those guides as instructed and still got crooked drawers; that's par for the course given the insufficient guides. Overall I am quite happy with my purchase and I can recommend this cabinet.

Great product!
This is great for the price!! It’s not the same as a solid wood wardrobe you’d buy from a furniture store for $2500 if that’s what you are expecting! But it is a solid storage solution! Takes time to assemble but the instructions are very clear and easy to follow! The hinges on the doors are adjustable to ensure proper alignment! I love this product! It looks great, I assembled it all on my own!
