Fables 20th Anniversary Box Set Paperback – February 28, 2023

The box is definitely a little on the fragile side, but not as paper-thin as some other reviews make it sound. I do feel I need to support its weight carefully so the books inside don't tear the box. The lid seems to be the weakest point so I'm trying to be careful with it. The books are a very tight fit inside the box and it's a little difficult to get them out, especially if you store the box right-side-up, as you then have to contend with gravity when trying to remove them straight up. I find it easier to tip the box up on one end and pull the books out sideways.The books themselves are printed very nicely, no quality concerns from me at least.Ultimately, since this is the same price as buying the four books separately, you may as well get this one and get a free box which may or may not be helpful for you. The box itself is gorgeous, so you could always store the books outside it and keep something smaller inside it if you wanted.

I’ll try not to get too deep into a review of the stories themselves and focus on the actual product. If you are looking to collect the entire Fables storyline, including some of the spinoff graphic novels, then this is the way to do it. It’s basically the four current compendiums in a collector’s box so you are getting softcover instead of hardcover books, but the box is pretty sturdy cardboard, and should keep them from getting too banged up. For those who have limited shelf space, it’s definitely a lot more condensed than the hardbound Deluxe Editions.The only downside for me is that there isn’t some sort of hinge mechanism for the top of the box. It’s just holds on with one single side paper that was used to wrap up the display box so I could very easily see it tearing. I’ll probably just use a sharp knife to have it freely removable. Other than that, it’s a nice solid set and a great way to read Fables!P.S. for those who haven’t read the stories, I would say to see it all the way through. The pace does lag at times, and it loses some of its momentum after they defeat the first big bad, but there are some real gems among the later arcs and the ending has a nice sense of closure.

Great stories. Excellent condition for used graphic novels.

A really fun read

Every time this set arrives, it is completely destroyed. I tried 4 times to get a set where the outer box was in one piece and it never happened.Other than that, the comics in this set are fantastic. I love the art and the story is great.

Fables is one of my all time favorite graphic novel series. This set boxes the compendium volumes (which can be purchased individually) together. Regrettably, the box quality is poor. I received my boxed set with a massive tear in the corner of the cover (see image).The box seems far too lightweight to support the heavy books (almost 18 pounds).I would still recommend the set for now because you are effectively getting the full collection of compendiums for a reasonable price, but don't expect the box to last very long, assuming you even get it in one piece.

I was pumped to get this!! This way it's easier to know what is on my bookshelf, keeps them clean and pages folding up on itself.

The collectors box itself was not impressive, it arrived with the lid torn just like others have reviewed. Regardless of the damage, there were other issues with the box and it just felt very cheap.Good news, I had no issues with returns. I used Affirm for the first time when ordering this and I had zero issues with them when getting a refund.
