If I plug this into the back of my tv, will the remote still work? (my old Roku device only responds if nothing is between it and the remote)

Roku remotes work off bluetooth and do not need a basic line of sight like an infrared remote. Some TV's don't have enough power in their usb outlet to power a streaming stick. The work around is to plug the stick into a recharging power adaptor.
