1 Bottle per Auto
Open, place entire contents of 1 bottle in oil, run vehicle for 10-15 minutes to check for leaks. Works like a snap to quickly check those hard to find on your own traces of oil leakage. A little spent on leak dye can save you hundreds spent for a professional technician to find the hard-to-deduce leakage by themselves.

Works as it should, awesome!
This stuff glows great with a good UV light, king of a bright orange. It's made in the USA! Dosage is on the box, I've added less and still got a good glow where the leak was. Pays for itself in efficiency in a shop when being payed by your billable hours. I will purchase again when needed, price is great compared to a single bottle at parts stores.

For better or worse
Purchased this product (along with Uview 413010 Battery Powered, 6 LED Leak Detection Light) to diagnose a persistent oil leak on my wife's 2006 Kia Sedona. While the oil leak wasn't tremendous in volume, it had gotten everywhere and was making the job of determining the exact source of the leak quite difficult indeed. After placing a 1 ounce bottle of the tracer dye in the oil and driving around the neighborhood for a bit, I took a look with the detection light while wearing the yellow-colored glasses. Initially, the areas fluorescing were difficult to see. After turning out the lights in my shop, however, it was much easier to see and I was able to pinpoint the source of the leak. Since its initial purchase, I've been able to use this product often to help diagnose oil leaks for a number of other vehicles belonging to friends and family. For better or worse, my home shop has become the go-to place for friends and family looking to diagnose an oil leak before taking it to the shop for this purpose. Of course, the real money-saver for the DIYer is if you're willing to make the repair as well as part of the process. My only complaint (not related to the product) is the need to have the vehicle in the dark in order to adequately see there areas where the tracer fluid is fluorescing. There are probably stronger lights out there that would preclude this need, but for the price of the tracer fluid and the UV light, it's a small thing to have to turn off the shop lights for a bit in order to see the leak clearly.

Found oil leak
I have an experimental aircraft that started using a lot of oil. Wasn't sure if it was leaking, or blowing out the cranckcase vent. I poured in half a bottle and flew for an hour. Closed up the hangar doors and used the $12.95 black-light flashlight I bought at the same time. Quickly discovered a crack in my oil tank. This kit saved the day. I drained the oil and fixed the crack. Good stuff. My only concern is leaving it in my engine for the full 40 hours between oil changes. The description says it's compatible, but is it really? Dunnno, but it did the trick. I'm sure it's not approved for certificated aircraft.

Works as expected
The product works as expected and helped me solve my oil leak issue. I let my oil leak problem persist for a long time because I assumed it was a tough and expensive fix. But using this dye helped me see that the leak was coming from my pressure gauge sensor. That turned out to be a quick 2 minute $10 fix. Feel dumb for not doing this earlier.

Works as advertised.
I used this product on a 2004 BMW 330i to help detect an oil leak I had. I used a weak LED UV light (with yellow glasses) and the product still was easy to see. I think if I had a more powerful light the results would be even more impressive. Some suggestions of using the product: 1. Clean the area you want to inspect first. 2. Do a benchmark or baseline visual of what the area looks like with UV light BEFORE putting the dye into the system. You never know what will glow. 3. Follow the instructions of running engine for 10 minutes but not much more. If you run it too long and have a big leak, it will just be dyed oil everywhere and the leak source will be hard to detect. In the end it did help me detect my leak. This is a 6 pack and I only needed half a bottle, so this will last a long time.

This stuff works great! I had a differential leak but I could ...
This stuff works great! I had a differential leak but I could not pinpoint where the leak was coming from. I thought it was probably the pinion seal but I didn't want to take the rear end apart before I knew for sure that was the problem. I added the Tracer Products leak detection fluid to the differential, topped off the differential fluid, then thoroughly cleaned the differential housing and drove the vehicle around for about a week. Then I just got under the truck with a UV flashlight in a dark garage and the Tracer Products leak detection fluid made the leak glow like crazy! It showed me EXACTLY where the leak was coming from! The pinion seal was fine - it was leaking past the third-member gasket - a much easier and less-expensive repair than the pinion seal. So this product saved me time and money - good stuff!

Maybe they used to sell stuff that worked... but not anymore
I bought this to help find an oil leak on a coupe. Having used a different dye to find a freon leak in my car's a/c system, I knew what I should expect. When I received this dye, I opened up a bottle and checked it with my UV led flashlight. It glowed bright yellow-orange. I was thrilled. Before adding any dye to the oil, I thoroughly cleaned the underside of the car, to make any leaks even easier to spot. Not expecting to need the full 6 bottles of dye anytime soon, and wanting to make sure the leak was clearly visible, I put an entire bottle into the car's oil (one ounce... twice as much as required, supposedly). After driving a bit, I checked both the underside of the car and the oil on the dipstick. Instead of the bright orange/yellow from the bottle, the dye-mixed oil (in both places) had a very faint greyish-green color. So not only was it not glowing; it wasn't even the same color! I waited until dusk to check again, and found the same disappointment. Dye that someone else had apparently mixed with the ATF at least five years ago was glowing a very bright green in midday, so I know it was not an issue with my UV flashlight. Regardless, I waited until dark to check again, and this dye was still not providing much glow at all. I tried a second bottle on a different vehicle, and achieved the same results (or lack thereof). Dyes like this are generally amazing. I notice that most of the positive reviews are from years ago, and the negative reviews are more recent. The only conclusion I can draw is that their QC has plummeted. Or perhaps they are accidentally selling dye that is not made for engine oil (I use full synthetic), despite the description. Either way, it was a waste of money. How disappointing. The only positive that came of it was noticing a tiny seepage of bright green ATF around the transmission seal... from someone else's dye, which worked (5-10 years later) exactly how this should have.

Found my fuel leak in may Audi B8 in just a few minutes.
I saved so much time with this. Okay, I didn't need 6 bottles, but the price is reasonable for the benefits you get. I poured one ounce in my fuel tank, and 5 minutes later we were able to find the leak. The mixing quantities can be find on the company website or in the manual.

Love it.
Works great. Unfortunately it confirmed my fears of my rear main seal leaking. I used to use this when I worked for the Ford dealership. I tried to get some at Canadian Tire and they looked at me like I was crazy.

These little ones work better for me
I could have bought the same amount of dye for about the same price locally, but in an 8 ounce bottle. These little ones work better for me.

work the money spent!
good stuff! highly concentrated so follow the instructions when using it. I got my money's worth the moment I used it in my OPE engine that suffered from mysterious oil leaks (found out it's the crankcase gasket leaking).
