It was to hold certain single-page letter-size documents on the wall for quick reference. When I received it I tried sticking it to a painted wall using the imprinted "SICONI" side with no load whatsoever. It quickly disengaged and fell to the floor. I then tried using the smooth side and it stuck for a matter of hours - fell off overnight. It may work on glass, smooth metal or plastic, but it failed miserably on a smooth painted surface. I am returning it. Addendum 9/10/13. My girlfriend who also ordered this item found that it sticks quite well to smooth, non-porous surfaces like smooth plastic and metal. Clearly, it was the limited surface contact afforded by a wall covered with flat latex paint that was the sticky pad's downfall. In all fairness, while the sticky pad has serious limitations, it performs pretty well on the right surface. This does not change the fact that it did not do what I needed it to do in the environment where it needed to work. Review: Not worth it - Worked great for a week and then when it started getting dirty and I washed it, never worked again. Waste of money. Bummer.

I bought this item and it worked as advertised. I bought the larger one and it didn't. I'd recommend this one.

WORKS EXACTLY AS DESCRIBED ... I RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT ... BEEN USING IT FOR A LONG TIME IN MY CAR AND IT HOLDS MY IPHONE TO THE DASH VERY WELL.
