I purchased the Mercer Culinary Straight Precision Plus Chef Plating Tong, 11-3/4 Inch, Stainless. Yes, that’s the "Precision Plus" version. I’ve owned a few plating tweezers/tongs but this one from Mercer is top notch quality. It’s got a good weight with cross grips for easy and controlled handling. The inside tips are serrated so your food won’t fall off. The steel is stiff yet bendable enough to allow for some movement. It comes with a removable rubber notch / “ring” at the base for hanging. I don’t hang my tweezers. I just lay them flat inside my drawer or stick it in my knife block. But I’ll keep the rubber rings attached because they look cool. The Mercer tweezers makes a nice “show-off” tool when I entertain. This basically replaces my cooking chopsticks. I mainly use tweezers for noodles, zoodles (zucchini noodles), picking up/turning over small pieces of meat, chicken wings or veggies. If you need more precision then get the shorter/smaller version. But since I’m a home cook and don’t need fine plating. The 11-3/4 version works fine for me. For a few more dollars, get the "Precision Plus" version. You won’t be disappointed with these Mercer tweezers. (I’ll post photos with my review).

Great tool for plating. Gives me total control. Plus it works well for striping leaves from thyme sprigs.

Personally for me it's very important comments below the product. They help me decided and get honest reviews from users. And I know that not all 5 star reviews are honest... So it's very important for me to give honest feedback about the product. I work in the kitchen as seasonal J1 student at the Chatham Bars Inn. And I use this tong for mussels, decorate seafood and other decorative works which requires delicate approach. So far this product done very good job and I would recommend it to anybody who works in the kitchen. But I didn't give it 5 starts because of it's price. I think it's a little overpriced. But this is my personal opinion and this factor might be least for other customers.

Does the job as needed

These Culinary tongs are very useful in many situations where your fingers are too big or you don't want to burn yourself picking things out off hot sauces or soups. I use a lot of lemons squeezed into sauces and there is always 1 or 2 seeds that end up in the cooking sauce. You can zero in on 1 or 2 tiny seeds without a struggle or burning yourself and also helps from getting frustrated by not being able to spoon it out. You'll find many other uses as time goes on. Glad I have these tongs for those situations that would normally drive me crazy!

Love the color and it’s very easy to use. Feels comfortable in my hand. Holds up to restaurant washer. A bit difficult to clean the narrow space towards the top but not really a problem, all in all a solid product

Flexible for fine placement.

This would probably infuriate Anthony Bourdain but I can now place pansy flowers strategically on my pancakes.

I really love these tongs. Makes me like a professional chef when twirling my pasta. The precision and rigidity of the tongs give you enough control from deep frying wontons to flipping pancakes!

Delivered within 5 days! Haven't used it yet but looks very well made and I look forward to doing some detailed food work with it and making final dishes look extra pretty. UPDATE easy to use and good for delicate work, I made macarons and decorated them with tiny round raspberry sprinkles that I arranged in straight lines. Perfect tool for the job.
