I purchase this mesh fabric regularly for years for figure skating and dance costumes. I chose it because of its stretch quality and ability to take fabric dye. Imagine my chagrin when my recent restock order had a completely different weight, texture and weave from the fabric I have ordered for years. The new mesh fabric has the same fiber count - 90 nylon/10 spandex - but was MUCH finer (similar to nylon chiffon) with a denser mesh weave and silkier texture. I was very skeptical about its ability to take dye due to the silky texture, and worried about its durability and possibility of tears or snags due to the fineness, but decided to give it a try on my current project. I could not have been more mistaken. This new mesh is an absolutely superior quality product to their previous mesh (which was great to begin with) It is strong, much stronger than the old fabric, with good stretch, cling and snap. It takes dye beautifully, true to color and colorfast. It is dreamy to work with, sews nicely (even single layers and cuts easily and cleanly, again, even single layers. The drape and flow is perfect, soft and gauzy like a nylon chiffon, but very durable like a heavy duty power mesh. This new fabric is a huge upgrade to what was already a solid product. I hope that the company continues with this mesh. It was a tremendous improvement.

I didn’t have chance to start my project yet, but what I see of the quality and power of stretch - it will fulfill my expectations and needs. I am hoping that my overlock will work on the fabric well too.

Colour is much lighter than expected. Very lightweight, soft, and great stretch.
