Q: Are these plugs saddle select or saddle enhance?

Those particular cortex screws with plugs are select saddle. We do have an enhance saddle item offered though. Q: Picture 4 says "1/2" chuck or impact driver". Picture 5 says "impact driver not recommended". Which is which?

I used a cordless 3/8” drill. It was set on “drill” versus a torque setting. If you use enclosed bit it will release once it sets to a certain depth. I recommend you use the provided bit. It worked very well and the plugs matched perfectly. If I remember correctly, a box comes with two bits. I installed about 75 of these on the stair treads.

Q: Would this be a close match to toasted sand?

Our contractor used this Select Saddle color for our Enhance Toasted Sand deck & facia boards (completed Sept2021). Being FastenMaster Cortex Fastening System doesn't make Toasted Sand plug color, this is about as close as you can get. Color variation doesn't jump out at you, but "grain pattern" is not the same. Other fastener manufacturers make Toasted Sand plugs, but beware of screw size variations as plugs will not match screw hole size.

The ad states “100 liner feet”. For 300 liner feet, order 3 boxes. Another way is to calculate how many you need plus a few for droppage/breakage. There are 224 in each box. I ordered a box and used about half. I broke 2-3, and the bit was still good when I finished. Each box comes with two bits. They call it a setting tool. Hope this helps.
