Excavating the Evidence for Jesus: The Archaeology and History of Christ and the Gospels Review: Well researched and easy to read - Interesting, informative, well researched, easy to read book presenting the evidence for the historicity of Jesus and the gospels. I gave this book as a gift to several friends! Review: Great Book Supporting the Bible - I have had this book for several years on my "to read" shelf" and finally had to read for an online Bible course I am taking with Dr. Frank Turek. Wish I would have read it when it arrived. Great book full of meticulous details supporting the historicity of the Bible through archeological evidence. For the Christian who needs data/details to help him/her defend the faith, you need this book. And study it when you get it (unlike my self). For skeptic/agnostic/atheist, you should read it as well so that when you attempt to de-bunk the Bible at least you will sound educated and will have a better grasp of the actual evidence that exists supporting the Bible. Then you can build your case against the Bible (good luck) knowing the supporting data. You should also get Dr. Turek's book "I Don't Have Enough Faith to be An Atheist". Let us know how your defense of your faith (atheism) goes. In all honesty to my friends who do not follow Jesus, you probably are not working with all the facts and evidence available. Josh

Fascinating, accurate, historical
Whether you're already a believer or want to learn more about Jesus of Nazareth, this book is superb. Kennedy is an archaeologist by profession but doubles as an historian in this work. He details the latest archaeological finds in connection with the Gospels but also covers ancient Roman and Jewish writings in connection with Jesus. I try to stay up on these things yet learned a great deal from this book. Information is presented in a logical, straighforward manner. So many wild claims by atheists are demolished in light of the concrete evidence Titus Kennedy presents here. Even so, he writes with a calm, unemotional tone that lets the material speak for itself. I think you'll like Excavating the Evidence for Jesus. I did, and recommend it heartily. The most important question any person can ask himself or herself is "What do I do with Jesus?" This book will help you decide.

Is It Real?
This book identifies much of the archaeological evidence confirming the existence and descriptions of places, people, and events referenced in the New Testament gospel narratives. The author also cites ancient Christian and non-Christian writings that confirm the general gospel themes (e.g. the existence of Jesus of Nazareth, his crucifixion, his miracles, and a belief among his followers that he was raised from the dead). The value of a book like this is that it shows the gospel narratives are historical and not fables. Whether one believes in Jesus as God or not, there is no lack of evidence that he existed and said and did all the things the New Testament said he did. In my mind, it’s not a stretch to believe he was/is God incarnate as I believe only God could be humble enough to become a man from Nazareth.

Wonderful account of historical proof
Written in layman's language by an expert archeologist, this book explores the actual sites named in the Bible. It's interesting and well illustrated. I gave it as a gift and I'm reading it myself.

Meticulously researched and scholarly, yet engaging and enjoyable to read. Dr Kennedy masterfully examines and elaborates on the archeological, historical and cultural background surrounding the life of Jesus. This is an essential study companion for anyone looking to explore the historical Jesus and illuminated the Gospels. Raphael Samuel MD
